In fact, the author set up a hidden game rule: as a guardian, Shinobu-kun has a Guardian Aura that can interrupt and intervene in any form of NTR, but it comes with an extremely long cooldown.

This skill has always been saved for Sakura, the heroine. So even though there are so many cute female characters in this story, and many girls like Shinobu-kun, most of them end up miserable and lonely precisely because Shinobu-kun keeps this guardian skill reserved for Sakura.

In the Director arc, even when Shinobu-kun is not present, this Guardian Aura will automatically trigger, with Tobi-kun stepping in to interrupt on his behalf.

But in the recent arc, Shinobu-kun broke the rules and did something abnormal: early on, he gave this Guardian Aura to Fumi, who greatly resembles Sakura, and then intervened in Fumi’s NTR plot through a deus-ex-machina rescue.

From a real-world perspective, Shinobu-kun did not cheat—at most, it counts as emotional cheating. But from a game perspective, this move is a true betrayal. The price is devastating: afterward, he immediately suffers the author’s destructive punishment. The Guardian Aura enters its long cooldown, leaving Sakura completely exposed. In the NTR plot targeting Sakura that follows, all of Shinobu-kun’s attempts to save the situation become powerless, his luck is reduced to 0, and he cannot even outrun a girl. Later, even when he manages to find the coordinates of the incident location, Nakanishi-kun has already been waiting upstairs for an hour before coming down to buy water, and Shinobu-kun still ends up just missing him.

So if this were a game, when Fumi falls into crisis and Shinobu-kun receives a call from his childhood friend, an option screen would pop up:

A. Stay on set and accompany Sakura
B. Go save Fumi

But in the manga, the author forcibly chose option B for Shinobu-kun, using up his Guardian Aura. As a result, the game automatically entered Fumi’s IF route, and Sakura inevitably became the sacrifice.

If Shinobu-kun had not gone to save Fumi back then, Sakura’s necklace would not even have been hidden as a prank. All the scripts that allowed Sakura and Nakanishi-kun to form a bond would have been skipped. Fumi would have been completely NTR’d, and it would have been extremely tragic. Because of the psychological trauma, she would not have entered the film industry, and Shinobu-kun, out of self-blame, would not have walked the path of becoming a director either. Naturally, there would also be no scene of them being witnessed embracing on the street. Nakanishi-kun would have naturally exited after the collaborative production ended, becoming nothing more than a handsome coworker in Sakura’s memory, and no further story would have happened.

So it is not a matter of Sakura’s views on chastity, nor whether her trust in Shinobu-kun was sufficient, nor whether she runs faster than Shinobu-kun, nor whether she would take the initiative to message Nakanishi-kun, nor whether she should answer the phone and listen to the explanation, nor whether she is sexually starved, nor whether she should instantly break up and transfer her affiliation. All of these are merely details. Under this worldline, Sakura’s ending as the sacrifice was predetermined. It was a BAD ENDING decided by the game rules.

So now you understand why the author told everyone to imagine a parallel world that suits their own preferences, right? And why she said Chapter 129 could not be redrawn? Because even if she redrew Chapter 129 a hundred times, it would only make those detail-level bugs more reasonable; the ending would not change. To alter the worldline, the story would have to be redrawn starting from Chapter 119, allowing Fumi’s NTR to continue until she loses her virginity and becomes yet another pitiful girl in Shinobu-kun’s contacts. Only then would Sakura and Shinobu’s love remain completely unharmed, without any crisis of trust.

All real-world logic is secondary. Only the game rules are absolute. This is entirely the author’s twisted sense of amusement.

The author said she wanted to draw a story that does not yet exist in the world, and in that sense, she was indeed right: because ONLY an INSANE manga artist would spend the early game choosing A all the way through, take the heroine’s virginity, and only then start choosing B!
Right now, what most readers are finding painful actually comes from two things:

30%: It betrays the premise built up over the previous 100 chapters, making it impossible for everyone to adjust to this new situation. It feels like the flesh that had grown onto Sakura and Shinobu-kun, body and soul, is being brutally torn off and forcibly pasted onto a new character who has been around for fewer than 30 chapters and is looking more and more suspicious.

70%: This is actually the bigger issue: the work is still “ongoing.” No matter how adaptable you are, you have to wait the full 7*24 hours just to see the next tiny bit of progress, while suffering through N*7*24 hours of waiting with the psychological expectation that you already know you probably won’t like where things are going next.

It’s like you and the author are playing Go. Up until now, the two of you have been evenly matched, and the game has progressed almost comfortably. Then suddenly the author makes a strange move you’ve never seen before. It’s bizarre, and it looks like she has already taken complete control—but you still can’t be entirely sure whether she might blunder later, letting you recover a little dignity. And that’s not even the worst of it: she starts taking long thinks. Every time she makes a move, she uses up the maximum time allowed, leaving you to agonizingly watch from a position you know is inferior. Before she moves again, you think through a hundred possibilities, not knowing how she is going to torment you. Once she finally plays, you have to discard 99, or even all 100, of the possibilities you had imagined, forcibly adapt to the new position, and then once again wait through the torture of her long deliberation.

If this work were already finished, then no matter how cruel Chapter 129 was, most people would complain and be baffled while immediately moving on to the next chapter to find out what happens. Even if, a few hours later, the final chapter gave you an ending you were completely dissatisfied with, at least the game would already be decided. There would be no need to keep agonizing over it. You would only need to remember the result, rationalize it, and discuss your emotional journey with others for a bit, and then you’d be fine.

In that particular sense, readers following the serialization are, by coincidence, perfectly aligned with Shinobu-kun’s anxious state of mind. They get to experience that torment of feeling betrayed and not knowing what the other person is thinking. In a way, it’s a rare kind of reading experience.

Well to be fair sakura and shinobu's story as of now has ended in chapter 129 and we are seeing the fallout from that end now question is what will begin now will we get fumi or will sakura be redeemed and find a way to get shinobu to forgive her. Thing is with chapter 130 we see she has no real remorse or guilty feelings she doesn't even think about it. Now she has left him as her manger and boyfriend. Plus breaking up over text. If shinobu comes running to save her when she finds trouble it will feel hollow.

That's why I'm on team fumi and it would seem the stories of these two will end up in parallel from here on out they are not likely to speak until the end because it's the last peak moment they can have. By then they will have moved on.

Dude does it take much to get sakura to betray shinobu no no it doesn't take much it's not even the first time yes they may not have been together but she knew he had feeling for her and I don't like the idea of shinobu just forgiving her she didn't make a mistake she had out she didn't have to be at his house he asked her if she wanted to go home she didn't she wanted to stay she wanted sex she is a shallow written character.

Bluntly sakura doesn't really deserve shinobu as she is now.
Yes this is the crux ir it, Sakura doesn't deserve Shinobu, no matter the reason.

A parallel story of Sakura lamenting and Shinobu moving on with Fumi and becoming successful would be a nice way to wrap this up but I have a feeling that doesn't fall into the Authors fetish enough. My understanding is she hates male characters and makes them weak. I dont think she's a good enough author for that.

She cheats on him, and on top of that, he's the one who has to beg to keep the relationship going, it's a joke. I think that's what's most annoying about a possible reconciliation between Sakura and Shinobu

See I'm not sure because I have never seen the infamous X post but no I do not expect shinobu to have any success in his life since the guy losing the girl in these story's is normal just humiliated more and more.

One option for the author, that is garbage, is that she walks it all back and fuckboi lied saying he had sex and 129 was Shinobu's thoughts of what could have happened. It would be lazy writing though and IMO would still leave people angry at the bait and switch.
Yeah you're right, but this is exactly the type of author who would write this lazy type of explanation...

I doubt it will happen, there is no reason to retcon this after let's say 3-4 ch, the damage is done. People would stay angry anyway at this point.

I don't thinks it's over, we just can't see any possible bullshittery from our perspective that the author could pull off to reverse what they did to Sakura and Shinobu's relationship. Also on the point of Fumi saying "I want you to look only at me" in this last chapter for the movie shoot, reminds me of how Nagi also said the exact same thing to Shinobu way back in the deserted island arc, and ultimately got rejected by Shinobu for Sakura. There is a chance the pattern breaks, Fumi does have parts of her that make Shinobu think of Sakura but I feel like even if they get together their relationship will be incredibly strained because both of them will know why Sakura disappeared from Shinobu's life and it might not work out well in the long run. What it takes to fix all this is for Shinobu and Sakura to directly face one another in-person and talk, the cheating can never be undone but it can be forgiven. Shinobu and Sakura actually think quite similarly, shown earlier in the manga with both have a, "someone like me could never" thought as they were thinking about their dreams vs where they were in life atp. Sakura will be redeemed, this is not the first misunderstanding she's had with Shinobu, just the one that did the most damage. If all else truly fails, Shinobu could always just go and become Mio's (the first girl he rejected) manager, through her connections he can probably focus on pursuing his director dreams.

Unfortunately as soon as 130 dropped this was no longer really possible. Fuckboi right now might embedding some lies at this cafe meeting though, good mention.

Well tomorrow I can say one thing for certain we will find out what his reaction will be to the cheating and get an idea of where he will go from here as for sakura's story I really don't care as far as I'm concerned her story is done I don't even care if she finds out the truth even if she did I do not think she will care anyways because by then she's in love with fuckboi. Now remember unless shinobu tells someone that sakura was with a fuckboi that night know one else knows so we have to see if he even tells someone else but fumi knows she caused a misunderstanding so she could take it on herself to tell sakura I doubt it because she will not know where sakura lives now.

Yes, but in previous misunderstanding it was always funny to see them immediately going back and forth to explain themselves to each other, I doubt we're getting a similar scene for the current crisis so I'm just banking on the author having something genius in their bag.

I don't think he is lying to shinobu here he has no need because he has everything anyways and he knows it or that's the author's intentions.

The cheating is done yes, but Shinobu and Sakura can still reconcile and get back together, until they meet one another in person, talk, and then agree to permanently go their separate ways in the manga, I'm going to keep coping and believing.

I don't think he has Shinobu's heart fully yet. Also he could embellishing some truths like her staying at his place meant in the same building, or the contract signing only being orally agreed to for now and not formally completed.

What would be really cool is that even if the cafe meeting fails to be productive, is if Shinobu's still resolves to find Sakura and he uses all the connections he's built up to this point supporting Sakura to achieve it. In terms of allies' strengh relative to how they could help resolve this crisis the list goes: Fumi>Ryusei>Mio>Sakura's Mom (last resort). Reminder Mio is the one owns the place they were living at, she has plenty of connections in the in same industry, a badass older sister who could also help, and a soft spot for Shinobu (but he rejected her for Sakura ofc).
