IMHO, "No one to help her" is the key to make Sakura be reminded about Shinobu again and again till she knew she couldn't forget him.

If I were the author, I’m going to push many situations where Sakura realizes how much she loves Shinobu, much enough to contact him for asking him back (she may say she forgive him). But since Shinobu is with Fumi, this creates a difficult dilemma. I’m going to drive this love triangle storyline forward.

The scene is there to establish how Sakura made Shinobu to be the bad guy, which is what she believes, since at no point did she confront him.

How it happened is now irrelevant anyway since what Sakura believes already replaced reality in the narrative.

Ok, this chapter... As I said before, it's a great chapter, a meh chapter and an horrible chapter at the same time.

It's a great chapter because we see Shinobu living his live and pushing forward. It's not so much about the sex with Fumi (although YASSS KING!) but the fact that not only he looked at the person in front of him, and he's pushing forward with his career.

It's a meh chapter because the scene with Nagi was the epitome of underwhelming. It was theorized that the encounter with Nagi would lead to a very interesting arc, where Sakura would be faced with her mistake and its consequence. None of us are writers, let alone mangakas but most were eager to see the story having some gravitas and real pathos. Instead of that Sakura's breakthrough is "oh, maybe I also should sluty it up."

And horrible because not only Sakura is headed in a direction that frankly seems uninteresting, but also a hint that Fumi will be the next focus of NTR.

Like, apart from Shinobu clapping, this chapter seems like a complete waste of potential reminding us all that, at the end of the day, it's still Katsura Airi's writing, where the narrative heavy lifting is made of readers' interpretations and/or projections.

We still do not know that for sure and it's stupid we don't. In the conversation with Nagi and Mio, following them dragging Shinobu, one of them would certainly ask about Sakura's dating situation. That simple and natural question was not shown because the author is milking the uncertainty.

This is my take on Sakura :

To minimize her guilt, she convinces herself that her actions were justified. Her internal logic becomes: "I didn't do a bad thing, I just reacted to what he did first."

She then deliberately avoids contacting him to resolve the misunderstanding. Subconsciously, she does not want to find out he was innocent. Discovering the truth would shatter her justification, forcing her to confront the fact that she cheated without any excuse.

By telling others that he cheated, she externalizes the blame. This public narrative reinforces her internal delusion, helping her protect her self-image as the victim rather than the wrongdoer.

Huh. The translation here for the director is actually more tame than the quick translation from reddit than I thought. It feels more like a simple suggestion than provocation, meaning Shinobu doesn't have to follow through with it. Unless there are other things that this director mentions that might convince Shinobu to tell Fumi to do it, Shinobu will most definitely say no. After what happened with Sakura, he should already know at this point what is right and best for them. Unless Airi goes poopoo again.

But him showing manliness end being his death sentence bc it's revealed producer-san is also Sakura's producer too, therefore, Sakura goes full #MeToo and, with producer's help, invent a made up story for the pink press accusing Shinobu of being a rapist, twisting the moment he and Sakura had sex as if he raped her without consent and framing Fumi as his current victim.

Pretty possible considering Cuckatsura hates naive weak and nice main characters. Gotta wonder if she had a traumatic experience with a nice guy or if she was a stacy in her HS days to project such a scorn against a certain type of personañity.
