I think she has the name rights or something like but Kodansha probably has the rights of the manga and has the major power to make changes if they want.

Reminder that with this getting canceled Katsura Airi is now free to make porn out of it btw. Basically her contract is done and she owns the IP, there will be some differences with a porn version cus the artist is different but she knows how to drawn porn. her last porn manga ran for 19 chapters.
I'm sure she's going to do it and expand Yuma's motivation and if she doesn't NTR'd Fumi in the official title, 100% she will do that with the porn version.

I still don't think she has any IP rights. Why? Well did you see any h-doujin about Grapara in these 3 years?
If i remember correctly, some publisher don't allow their IPs to be used even by independent self publishing authors. Even for Comiket and stuff like that.

'cos no value left in this manga, premise about protect Sakura is gone, romcom element non exist, NTR bait won't work anymore cos real NTR already done, don't ask about drama element when every character look like smoothbrain

It could use another 1-2 volume to wrap things up but damage is done and got massive backlash, so I can't see any reason publisher should give this shitass manga a chance to redeem itself

I got overly hung up on the ghost writer thing and got a bit expectant that KA would somehow stop promoting GraPara! but I guess it's not a tall ask to maintain the status quo to make the axe not more obvious than it already is.

To add onto this bittersweet ending and make it a bit lighter, I think that at the very least Sakura will join Mio's agency and be happy in the end, even if Shinobu rejects her.
