should i know what a gigil is?
From Wikipedia : Cute aggression, also known as gigil, cuteness aggression, or playful aggression, is the urge to squeeze, bite, or otherwise act aggressively toward things perceived as being cute without the desire to cause any harm. It is a common type of dimorphous display, where a person experiences positive and negative expressions simultaneously in a disorganised manner.

So I think it's that.

as someone who's travelled through quite a bit of france automatic doors are things I've only seen in métros like paris (don't visit there, riots or not it's not that great) or Rennes (on the other hand do visit there, great place, good food and it's not paris which to 97% of france is a selling point)

Oh this is a very charming visit. I was cracking up badly at them missing the bus by 5 minutes like. Ahhh the countrysides the same everywhere, huh..... god i wish we had shitty rural train stations in the us lol.

Well, no more train envy. I must bask in the cuteness of family visits. The grandmas nerves are very sweet. And thank you for the notes on 'avec'! I love that kind of thing.
