Honestly the thing that bothered me the most about this chapter is the MC using a lousy dagger to chop vegetables instead of a superior crafted Japanese santoku...cmon author if you're going to go the well trodden route go all in!!! 🤣

we put soysauce in everything here so i don't know why it tastes like that to you. Even if you normally like ketchup and mayonnaise it still shouldn't be too bad.

yea yea we get it already japanese food is the best. a couple panel later it is done because the MC actually knows how to make it? WOW. That's so random. Like some random office guy actually have the know how of making sugar.
The general complaints on this chapter are completely fair. This, however, is an example of someone not paying attention to what's even in the chapter they're commenting on and also probably someone ignoring the fact that people do stuff like learn how to make things they ordinarily wouldn't just for the experience sometimes. People do that for vacation activities. Or just happen to because they visit relatives in the countryside and help out with chores while they're there.

This is one of the least implausible things an isekai could throw at us, at least he was apparently learning it in person and still apparently failed to replicate it on his own for quite a while here. Most of the time some random kid gets isekai'd and pulls random Wikipedia knowledge out of their ass to revolutionize entire industries.

A japanese guy got reincarnated to another world and craving for some japanese foods? Makes sense to me, I don't see why people complaining about the obvious. I'm sure if the MC is, for instance, an Italian, he would crave for pasta, pizza, tomato sauce, etc. Because it's fucking obvious. He even failed to recreate them for many years even though he had helped people to make them back on earth, so it's not an instant success which makes sense to me too.

It's a trope for a reason, because it's fucking make sense, so of course many isekai manga uses this. But I guess haters just gonna hate anything huh.

I think the big issue with this trope is that anyone would crave familiar food, but most people wouldn't dedicate years to replicate it in a new world. I'd personally be satisfied with food being edible rather than wasting money and resources on experimenting to recreate a very specific type of sauce.

Specially when the plot established his family has to provide for 8 children and it's not too well off economically.
