Noble being shitty is because they're stupid enough to not think about the consequence when they got found out, but smart enough to work with something less flashy and with an inside backing. MC is smart enough to not try something suspicious and wreck his own life as a kinda new fast rising noble in a flashy national project, but stupid enough to not have a necessary knowledge to always have an upper hand over everything.
