Kissmanga was, for all intents and purposes, a shitshow. First of all, they constantly put advertisements on their pages, which directly showed they were profiting from their piracy (for MangaDex, at least it relies on donations only and all proceeds go to the site’s costs itself). In addition, all of their image servers were hosted by Google, of all things, which meant a single DMCA could immediately sink them.
