Well, in this case it wasn't supposed to be seen "in public", it was kind of forced on her.
if she did not want to wear it she should have refused - easy, but she agreed, so no one to blame šŸ’ā€ā™‚ļø. More so, there is one invention that helps you to not be seen if you don't want to - it is called a *** door lock

This is a slice of life romcom. There is no over arching story or plot. It's just about enjoying the charadters and their interactions. There really is no such thing as filler for this type of manga.
This is a slice of life manga. It’s literally all filler, that’s the point. People doing ordinary everyday shit.
Apologies for my ignorance and thank you for the clarification. Still pretty new to some of this stuff, so I will adjust my expectations! Cheers! :)

It's not exactly a coincidence but more likely the physical realities of the TL process. Typical scanlation drama ultimately but if I were to attempt to TL;DR I'd open the door to all sorts of unwarranted attacks so all I will say is read through the series comments :lul:

I miss the maid outfit already :meguuusad:
I forgot about that drama and the other group. I blocked their content after their group leader accused a poster of being molested by their uncle. There were many ways to handle the "haters" who were salty about the chapters being taken down, and suggesting they were molested wasn't one of them. Decided to never support that group again.

I miss the maid outfit too :meguuusad:

Bro, how hard is it to use context clues? She doesn’t want him seeing the outfit because he’s the one she feels most self conscious around. Did you forget the entire relationship dynamic of these two people who clearly have a crush on each other?
Context clues...? Serious, bro? Yeah, I understand that she's more self-conscious around him. I'm not disputing that. What I'm questioning is why the maid outfit apparently warrants that level of reaction from him when they've already had much more embarrassing and intimate situations together. Like, the time he accidentally saw her changing in the infirmary and saw her in just her bra? Or the time he stood in front of her so the others wouldn't see her "undergarments", only for her to realize that what she thought was a pair of shorts was actually just underwear and that she'd been standing right in front of him like that? I genuinely don't understand how a maid outfit is somehow so much more overwhelming than those situations, but okay.

And honestly, I can admit that I might be more sensitive to this because of other romance manga I've been reading lately, so maybe I'm exaggerating how much this bothers me. But that doesn't change the fact that the two of them have already had moments that were arguably much more embarrassing than this without Kurose reacting like he was witnessing the end of the world. That's why I think this was a missed opportunity. Instead of having him literally pass out for several minutes because she's "stunning" in a maid outfit, the author could have called back to their earlier date, where he couldn't bring himself to tell her she was cute and ended up saying she was cool instead, remember that context? He could have simply told her how cute she looked this time. That would've been funny and actually reinforced their romantic progression, without him FAINTING.

Instead, the joke is basically that she's so overwhelmingly beautiful that, the other two girls, and even the nurse are briefly knocked out by it, while Kurose gets the most ridiculous reaction of all and is apparently out for minutes. And what's even "funnier" is that the actual pervert who was openly staring at her chest doesn't seem to suffer the same fate.

So yeah, maybe I'm overreacting because of other series I've been reading, but I still think it's a wasted opportunity. I don't mind the maid outfit or the fanservice itself. I mind that the manga had a perfect setup to turn it into another cute moment between the two leads, and instead chose to prioritize the gag.

So... the cultural festival arc has to come after this.
I'm now seeing a timeline:
-Festival starts
-Kurose's class, showing what their class will do.
-Mio's class, the maid cafe. She never serves anyone or those she serves are fcking terrified.
-Some other filler in between.
-Kurose gets a break, goes to maid cafe. Kurose almost faints again seeing Mio in a maid outfit. :meguu:
-Kurose gets served by Mio. Everyone is surprise at how Mio is happily serving him. :meguusmug: (wording, okay? GET YOUR MIND STRAIGHT!!! :slap: )
-Finale of the festival, the musical performance of Watmelo.
-Kurose fcking KILLS IT on stage with the guitar. Mio is massively impressed, now actually falls in love with him fully (hopefully :aquadrink:).
-Maybe an after party with the gang.
-Either they find the time or goes home together, Kurose and Mio get some alone time.
-Romance develops further. They now both realize they love each other. (I don't expect a full confession, but this is the least that Sumutemu-sensei could give to us, I wish she does give this :meguuusad:)

If there's gonna be some sort of conflict, either internal (some backstory or personal reasons type shii) or external (some dips**t who butts in in-between Kurose and Mio), it's gonna go on;
-Some other filler in between.
; and/or below
-Kurose gets served by Mio. Everyone is surprise at how Mio is happily serving him. :meguusmug: (wording, okay? GET YOUR MIND STRAIGHT!!! :slap:)

Can't wait for the next chapter. Cultural festival, the ultimate fluff giver arc in rom-com (summer festivals are second), HERE WE COME!!!:meguupog::oooo::bleh:
