@Ahsis Right back at ya, because the blue balling in here is happening in the LITERAL sense. That's not something that can be said about Domekano. As I said before, different problems.

In my head this is running together with the Hokkaido gyaru comic. At the beginning of the chapter I thought, “Wait, isn’t she studying abroad? What happened to that plot line?” By the end of the chapter...

@Tamerlane Maybe she’s a switch.

Hmmm. So a gyaru-love-interest-of-the-MC going to study abroad is a cliche nowadays.

Oh Fuck Off 🙄 Screw you author. What a stupid forced development. You pulled that straight out of your ass. Did your editor tell you that you needed more drama or something?

And france? Is this girl bilingual? Why does she care more about france than love? Why would she choose to do this after entering/currently being in a loving relationship? France ain't goin anywhere, you could still go see it later, hell you could get married to eachother and go live there.

Long distance relationships just flat out dont work. In fiction they can, and Irl there are occasional exceptions, but the simple fact is that proximity matters.

I'm sorry but this is just straight up some grade A Bullshit.

You know apparently a lot of eastern cultures (especially japan) have some widespread misconceptions of France, specifically Paris. It's idealized in a way that doesnt reflect the fact that is for the most part a standard modern city. Many desire to go there because of the ideal and then literally go into shock upon realizing that their ideal exists only in fantasy. This occurs so often that is even has a recognized name for the psychological phenomenon (in French, English, and Japanese) Paris Syndrome (Pari Shōkōgun) Basically just extreme Culture Shock.

Here's a link to the wikipedia article on it (though it's also easily Google-able):
