#1 Does she still have a mother? I only saw her Dad until now.
#2 How much does a Baseball bat weigh and how does it affect he speed of the hitter and the speed of the ball?
@2: googled a bit and its not that simple actually. ^^ anytimebaseballsupply.com had a good chart how to chose. Bats are actually a lot lighter than I thought: about half a kg for youth players up to almost 1 kg for pro players. But of course its still a big difference, so she probably got one bat for a 13 years old or something to start her training.
