@SlingToken yeah, she was about to give up on her. But she regretted at the last minute and turned around. I know a lot of parents want to disown their little shit too. Hell, in my case, I even want to disown myself 😂

Wait, what did the kid do to make the mom almost disowing her ?
Lose her virginity with her homecat innards while vowing for Satan to murder the whole neighborhood ?

I seriously hope this was a mistranslation lol.

@darekpawlo @BaGamman @SlingToken

Mom wasn't actually disowning her; note, she expected her child to be behind her. The moment she stopped hearing her kid, she turned around in worry.

So she was just ignoring her crying kid, not actually abandoning her. She was saying she was in her head, but it wasn't her actual intent.

I'm sure many parents feel like abandoning their kids (of course, most would regret it quite quickly; you can do stupid sh*t when emotionally high). But rather than actual abandonment, it was more just annoyance.

Well, well, well. You could understand her behavior as another adult because, seriously, raising a child could be very hectic. Just think about how much that little brat tormented her on daily basis for years on end. But, on the other hand, from that child's perspective, there is no difference between pretending to abandon her and actually abandoning her—at least until her mother comes back. That's the point of threatening. It's one of those. The good old practices. Most parents won't do something like this anymore because it's unhealthy. But I'm pretty sure a lot of you guys experienced something like this as a child. I was repeatedly told that I'm not my parents' child when I was a child. And I didn't even do anything to upset them. They giggled as they watched my reaction.

If you're gonna have a child, then don't do something like this. And treat this chapter as a work of fiction. No child got almost abandoned in the making of this manga.

Just one chapter? How unusual. Although it is a bit longer...

I actually thought this was Haruko-chan's flashback at first.

i think ""I don't even know her, not anymore" its pretty much and statement she's willing to leave her behind but after she regrets it

I've seen this "parent pretending to abandon their child briefly" happening many times, it usually was done when the child was being overly stubborn in wanting something (usually some candy or toy) and this was a way to teach them that they can't get everything they want just because they throw a tantrum.

Yeah there might be better ways to raise/teach your children so they don't become conceited little shits, but as Papa Bear said sometimes it's just hard.

@CramAZ In 2016 there was a famous case in Japan. The parents left the child in the forest to scare him, then they would return to pick him. The child ended up getting lost in the forest full of brown bears. Fortunately they found the child.

@deathmailrock Nah. She can't hear the child for 5 full frames before she starts worrying. It really looks as though she was regretting the whole parenting thing for a moment there.

@jesuscristo frames aren't always time. And yah, she was regretting it, but that doesn't mean she actually was going to abandon the kid.

Saying that you'd throw away the brat in your head and actually doing it are 2 different things.

Of course, when complaining, she might stop noticing the sh*t too.

But she obviously didn't really want to get rid of the kid. She was just mad.
