Nononono.... The guards are Just Following Orders and can be Redeemed if they just see the Error of their Ways. Ditto for the Princess.
And only Bad Guys kill to get a desired result in a shounen.. The Good Guys never kill unless absolutely forced to, or unless the Bad Guy has properly turned into a Monster by some plot device. Killing Monsters is OK, mmm'kayyy.

Because author is Japanese and Japanese don't treat highschoolers at the same lvl as western countries. A japanese high schooler can legally do a lot of things a high schooler from say America can not do as such they are treated as young adults without actually being adults.
From what I seen, an American high schooler is probably at the level of responsibility as a Japanese middle schooler, give or take.
