>the Lord was more worried about Kento being faithful to his daughter than the otherworlders nearly burning the town down

:lul:
I hope someone calls that fucker out. It got annoying after the first time. This dude cured his daughter’s illness, saved the lives of everyone in the city and constantly kills far more monsters than they can take.
And this is a world polygamy is legal. He is not getting a better guy than this as we have been repeatedly shown anyone moderately powerful is conniving or aggressive

Hahaha, well said. It feels like you can count the people who understand when gratitude is warranted on one hand in this town.

I have a feeling this forced labor stuff is going to backfire... These people were rescued from being slaves, then they were immediately re-enslaved and told to do hard physical labor at a rate that will take years to pay off.
Think there is a justifiably difference in the use of the nullification bracelets. True they were used by the other country to enslave them, but here it is their own unreasonable actions that directly leads to the use.

Honestly think the author should have had the city lord hold court and pass the forced labor judgment. That would allow the MC to use the event as a warning to the rest of the students that just because some other asshole summoned you to this world, doesn't mean you can cause wonton destruction to unrelated communities.

It's OK to desire sympathy and help, it's something else to cause trouble and chaos while still expecting to be treated as the victim

You know what ? i'm glad that the old man was sorry after a good night of sleep, he shouldn't have stepped on MC but it was in the heat of the moment and the guy just had lost his house/shop and probably his life work, another thing to be glad is MC growing a little spine with the rest of the class.

Thanks for the chapter by the way but don't forget to take some rest.
Yes. i am glad he did have a talk with him and did tell him not to worry about it. because it is NOT Kento's fault that his classmates are a team filled with spoiled and entitled assholes.

and indeed. take a rest please. it has been wonderful to read it but you DO need to rest man.

But just calling them idiots isn't even quite enough. Kicking their balls should be allowed here, and done in public, while also reprimanding them about this, how much he had to do dogeza to just save their sorry keister, and how much their parents spend their everything to raise these little pricks. Honestly, forget getting angry, at that point if it was me, I would already blew my tops and try to make them regret ever being born.

Edit: even idiots learn. Because idiots don't want to be idiots, and they want to repay the sacrifices made by their parents. That's why idiots will stop being idiots. But these brats? They're the shame of their parents.
You might not be able to fix stupid, but the ignorant can be taught. The only issue is some are to closed minded or traumatized to learn.

As the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't force it to drink. The same here is true about the MC's classmates and fellow students. If they continuously cause trouble to the individual and or group that is trying to help them, it's hard to see them as the victims.

Especially when the author has intentionally written the kids as spoiled little shits without an ounce of humility, nor redeemable qualities. They have consistently demanded luxury and difference, yet utterly fail to do more then lament about their living conditions and treatment. Sure they are teenagers from a soft modern society, but at some point you have to face reality and make the best of the shit sandwich that is your new life.

i get the feeling they still not learn their mistakes bruh

gonna need some ball kicking, and especially the glasses guy.

MC didn't reveal his achievements at this point is double edge sword. it indeed some same age people underestimate them and worried they gonna take their job. but at the same times it good that his Friend can't exploit his achievements (especially the idiots ungrateful in jail)

You also thought mc was involved with burning down his shop, not just a guy trying to apologize for his “friends” being idiots

@cerezeth page 29 I see text is misaligned in the bubble.

Good chapter overall, I think the mind state and behaviour of the MC makes sense given whats happened so far. He had a pretty dogshit initial introduction to the world and then became very capable and basically the lynch pin of so many things in volzard as well as with the ability to save his classmates.

He really should utilise his power to save his classmates but I think he’s a bit out of his depth with how the whole situation has come together. He’s got to manage relations with the town, manage monsters, interpersonal relationships especially with girls and think about whether he wants to go back home or stay. He’s still not fully self actualised since he wasn’t that notable in Japan but that’s shifted in a big way since.

He’s developing well actually asserting himself and clearly showing why they one are even able to be in volzard and how any and everything came from him. As long as he doesn’t become a doormat in future the other classmates will have to respect him. That or a life threatening situation for them.

Klaus and Donovan, who are in the loop (most people aren't), probably appreciate Kent more than anyone at this point. That's why Klaus goes back and fourth about his daughter, instead of just leaning one way.
Klaus is being pulled in two directions. On the one hand, Kent is a certified playboy/womanizer, and sexually assaulted his daughter, when Klaus is an overprotective parent in the first place. On the other hand, his daughter Beatrice is torn up over not being able to get with Kent, and her mother Marianne supports her, while Klaus is mega whipped by Marianne. Add to that his sense of noblesse oblige: Klaus is obliged by his position to protect the people of Volzart, and with overwhelming demon armies coming, he must tie Kent down to the city by ANY MEANS NECESSARY (as you will see soon).

Dang, so we’re at a point where people around mc, especially those he helped, are now basically taking advantage of him…
don’t get me wrong I don’t mind, they’re literally in a position of life and death, and mc has power to spare, so I get it, I just hope the author and the story itself acknowledge this, and maybe portray it in a bitter way, not entirely evil, just tasteless behaviour towards their hero.
it would bring way more flavour to the writing instead of just using this as a plot device to keep postponing the rescue mission

Exactly. While in universe it would make sense the city lord would hand out a punishment they're going to take it as going from enslavement to enslavement if it comes as a direct punishment from Klaus. As can be seen by the prison scene they don't think that they've done anything wrong but if the community comes together to find them guilty they would be more acceptable to it since Japanese society is communally judgemental. Either that or the punishment should be handed out directly by Kento so it would be viewed by them being punished by one of their own.

this has been a big improvement over the last few chapters. The humor doesn't hit with me considering everything. I like that it's taking a more serious look at the situation, it's consequences, and what needs to be done.
