I think that the scene with manon was fine and all... except I feel like she should at least be entitled to know if him staying is even on the table for him. We already know it is, but I don't think we have ever seen this communicated to manon, so she must be feeling awful knowing that she has pretty much no chance against his family and life in his original world. Donovan wants Kent to take training seriously. Kent has skipped out on the training course, and doesn't even practice magical strengthening (something very essential). Donovan is doing this to encourage Kent to have strong essentials so he doesn't, say, get stabbed by a knight. Eventually, the guild arranges a specific trainer for Kent to deal with these concerns.

Getting stabbed by a knight or 10 is not an issue though, he could easily and instantly heal from that, without even needing time to recuperate. We have even seen him heal from having been half-eaten, so some cuts is trivial in comparison (neater wounds and not even any missing material).
The only real danger in it is the pain. As it could make him stop attacking or even dropping his weapon/shield

Nah all that happened this time was that he got run through with a sword. He easily heals from that kind of wound without even passing out, considering he healed from being eaten alive and a bunch of other stuff. You would need something instantly lethal, and even then I am not certain that is enough, since one of the panels from when he was eaten looked a lot like "the light" had left his eyes and he had died, before healing.

In both cases he maintained consciousness enough to invoke his will to survive, which activated his healing magic on himself. If he was just knocked unconscious first, or to the other extreme, decapitated, he’d be dead meat.

That’s why they want him to be more cautious and have better situational awareness/perception. That said, he could easily deputize a few minions to be responsible for his personal security instead.
