Yeah ending feels hella rushed. I checked for a long time last year if it was cancelled or what but it seems this was the planned ending so I was like....

Wow, it looks like Cory got over Paula real quick... On a related note, it's kind of weird to consider that Corry could be excused for essentially raping Paula, but I guess Idaten psychology means that she don't really care that her was having unconsensual sex with her. She said it was less unpleasant than the mild pain she felt from the torture. Honestly, between the torture, rape, and confinement, I think their greatest transgression against Paula was keeping her inside, away from the birds and the grass. I still don't really see Cory as a great guy anymore. I thought he was pretty cool at first because he was the first demon to side with the Idaten despite his mind control being reversed, but what he felt towards Paula wasn't really love, but lust. He fell in love with those massive bazongas and her ditzy personality.

Really does felt like Coolkyou just ran out of material after the idaten got captured. Not really much of a conclusion so much an ending, if you catch my drift.
I'm not quite sure what he saw in the original web manga. Even the highlights of the series mostly amounted to "demons are bad but are they GENOCIDE-worthy???". I know he's always been something of a horny chuuni dude so it does fit his normal view more than something like Dragon Maid, but it never did felt like there was much to it. Miku is probably the thing that could provide the most content but she wasn't a threat since she couldn't actually counter the idaten at the end of the day. It just felt like he wanted to make an interesting philosophy experiment + worldbuilding exercise (with bonus rape scenes!!) over a story with characters.

Was at least an interesting exercise at the end of the day.

I think the greatest transgression is that they felt like it was going somewhere. The world is still being run by an evil mastermind, and we can assume she's eventually going to resume her evil deeds. I understand why people say that the series was left unfinished even though it seems like that's the ending that Coolkyou decided on. Well, at least I got to Piscalat getting her cheeks clapped; she was always my favorite character. I guess I'll go watch the rest Dragon Maid since I just remembered that that's another series of his.

I went back to check if i can finally fix the Miku secrete code stuff now Ive gotten better at translations but still got nothing clear sadly. Maybe I'm missing something so here's the raw. Anyone who is able to get a clear idea pls let us know.

According to what was written on the raws we were meant to get OVA containing the lives of the Idaten before then reincarnated as Idaten along with other stuff. But I couldnt find any trace of it anywhere online. No proof it was ever made

Was there even an official 9th volume that was released? I was assuming that the final chapters may have been released online, but they never released the full volume.

I dont think they ever released it. I dont see it online and not even seeing forums about the physical copies. I genuinely feel the series was canceled and rushed out but some "sources" claim this was always the intended end.

My head canon is that the end was something like this but it was meant to have a longer buildup, but then when they were given a deadline they just rushed through it to get there
