The merchant girl is getting a lot of flak for setting all these ridiculously high bars for Pelomas to clear, but I see it as her last stand as a "free woman".

She's been down bad for Allen ever since he saved her and her dad, but she also knows that as a daughter of a prestigious merchant family she has an obligation to marry someone beneficial for her family. So she's struggling with having to put aside her love for Allen, which she is still willing to do for the sake of her family. The hurdle she's setting for Pelomas is her way of creating an excuse for herself to let go of Allen and go with Pelomas. A final selfish request she can call her win, before she's giving away the rest of her life to someone she doesn't love.

Now should Pelomas want to marry a person who doesn't want to marry him to the point that she has to do all that to force herself into that marriage? Probably not, but I guess the heart wants what the heart wants? Logic and reasoning don't always win out when it comes to love. 😅
And I also think he's seeing all these trials she's setting as a way to win her over, but he seems too blind to realize that while it will lead to him marrying her, he won't be winning her over emotionally. Though hopefully that'll change in/over time...

so cecil>fiona, both in strength and pedigree.

Cecil would never stay a regular girl as she is noble child and have mage class, so she will join academy and be sent to front line like her brother. so with Allen, she would be training to get strong, ofc not as strong as she now, but still stronger that Fiona brats.

it just Allen make a promise to her brother to protect Cecil, and because she would be in front line anyway, the best option is to train her to get even stronger.

base mage > base merchant. even plain fireball can burn civilians.

not on that kingdom. High noble and royal family constantly discriminated against lower noble and merchants so they can't rise in power and took their place. so the idea merchant could be powerful is impossible unless they have connections to royal family.

Fiona family definitely not having connection to corrupt high noble/royal family. plus, we know how greedy those noble and king is.

plus, Cecil definitely better here as she love Allen because she know how loyal and the way he put his life on line for her.
Fiona didn't appreciate the effort, she just wanted to have what Cecil have. Cecil love Allen when he not even S rank/hero. Fiona wanted someone at Allen level just to match Cecil.

Cecil power house because allen train her, but also she have a will to get hurt to get stronger because what happen to her beloved brother. she also know if she weak, she will expose Allen to danger in keeping her safe. so its not 100% given on her, she need to work her ass off.
