I'm reading the novel along with the manga right now and it's supposed to be 4 days of school and 2 days of break, which is when the majority of their dungeon stuff happens. The manga cuts out a lot of technical details and small interactions with the world, so I would recommend reading it if you're into that kind of stuff.

Here's some details from the LN.

Allen is, basically, a big fan of magic stones. As you can see on how almost everything about Summoner require magic stones. That "everything" included Leaf of Lives, aka his recovery items. Sure, he's got a shit ton of magic tons right now, and could probably produce hundreds of recovery items. But he did say this: "If I can save on the use of magic stones, then it would be better."

He's preparing for the upcoming battle against the Demon Lord army, which consist mostly of C rank and B rank monsters, with occasional A rank which was described to approach a Minor Deity in terms of strength.

By "occasional," I mean a few dozens of A-rank monsters in every army. That was like fighting a battle against (at least) fifty demigods and hundreds to thousands of angels. He would need those magic stones for his Summons.

The author has to have the intention of making MC AFK EXP 24/7 with his summons to offset his exp penalty as well as maximize the fact he has no level cap and that he can gain EXP while other people have to sleep or otherwise occupied during the day.

The fact he can afk level and as he level up his summons scales with it so he can afk harder content is so obviously designed for 24/7 endless botting and getting stronger.

Otherwise Hell Mode would be nothing but a detriment if he play any other class where his leveling time is limited by his free times and at a 100x penalty he'll basically have to beat the game underleveled as a self-imposed challenge.
