I think I missed something, why does changing the guardians avoid Ayano and Yuzuki from being killed? (Page 23)

The two sisters were descendants of both the main and branch families, so they were in the unique position of potentially either being a guardian or a victim. The main family wouldn't want the guardian to be killed, so Ayano at least was safe from being a victim. It isn't directly stated, but it seems to imply Yuzuki and the rest of the family was protected as well.

Ofc he should go out and touch some grass lol. On page 14 she told that the old man shut himself inside the house and never need to work.

Yeah, I was wondering why Yuzuki and the rest of the family was protected as well, maybe part of the "deal" by someone in the family being the guardian?

It could simply be that the parents were counting on Ayano or Yuzuki being unwilling to murder anyone in her immediate family, but I dunno, given how murder-y the rest of the family tends to be...

It's mentioned by the mom. Killing the cousin made Ayano the guardian, and Ayano being older than Yuzuki made the parents hope that she wouldn't be corrupted by the grandparents' shenanigans and thus keep her rationality, ergo ensuring Yuzuki and the mom safe (minus the dad who chose to suicide).

Unironically going out and touch grass might've been a good solution. The grandfather only continued this tradition because he mostly stayed inside his house and minimized social contact, thus allowing him to continue believing about the 'curse' instead of seeing it for the bullshit it is from a different perspective. A perspective he could've gained if he went outside more.
