This story has such light air but doesn't lose its tension, like living life with its twists and turns.

I just remembered... that mercenary that fought Bard in the beginning and that Bard helped later didn't appear again yet, Bard gave him money because he needed and the guy said that after he concluded some personal business he would follow Bard.

Doubt he scammed Bard, that guy looked too honest for that, they must have just missed each other.

When he joins them, this merry band will be legendary... it already is, Gordon was a good fighter and is becoming even better, Julchalga is a thief of immense ability and Bard is Bard, with that guy, they will have fighter that Bard admitted that even in his prime he would have difficult dealing with.

Yueitan is so majestic.

It wasn't shown, but Bard must have explained when he asked for lodging, and truth be told... these people would not confronted them upfront, if at all, about the matter.

In the best of cases, they would say something to the authorities of the region, but best not provoke the "battle-hardened and armed strangers".

Good question. Sorcery isn't heavily dwelt on aside from the magical creatures but re-read chapter 4: Bard encounters an old witch, and though it's a bit ambiguous throughout the story whether or not she's an actual witch as opposed to just a wise old herbalist, but things like lighting a fire with just her hands and IMO the end heavily imply she was a supernatural being.
