As someone on the wrong side of the 4th decade I get that, but unfortunately I don't have any older fujoshi around. Furthermore I'm of the wrong gender and hate glorified toxic or abusive relationships in any media so I usually stay far away from yaoi (and dropped a ton of shonen, shojo or josei that went with the beautifull a***ole or abusive tsundere type of main love interest).

The technique is ancient in that it is from a time when doujin were painted on wooden planks and traded behind grass huts; so of course no "normal" living "ancient" fujoshi would know it.
