I dunno, this alternate Japan doesn't seem very protective of minors. More exploitative really.

Ruri chan, and underage explorers are really getting exploited by the guild. The guild gets all the rewards, and they end up with close to nothing.

They really swung all the way to exploitation of child labor in their "attempt" to "protect" the children by dissuading them by not allowing them to properly get their rewards.

Ruri chan is certainly an outlier, but I bet the guild is still making a ton of money by ripping of other minors.
