The logic in this manga is starting to get on my nerves

Be a group of knights , train together brag to enemy about your great coordination , proccede to go individually and die , (besides shy is no one wearing a ducking helmet)
Be assassin maid , decide to betray your organization for your friend you gained on mission , tell your new target , your old boss that you are joining the princesses's side , go into a duel
Be Capitan of knights , be really strong , help your liege who tries to coup the government, go kill his only real opposition , engage her bodyguard , watch as your squad gets slaughtered , despite your position you weren't smart enough to do tactics ,tell your subjects to wear ducking helmets nor help your man , probably fight bodyguard who killed 5 ppl alone ("best knights" , your personal squad ) be an arogant dick

The reason the knights showed great teamwork and then disintegrated into breaking their formation is because it was an excellent example of showing that they were highly skilled, but lacked discipline. A unit with high discipline would have ignored any baiting and continued to coordinate attacks until the target was killed. Alas, these idiots completely let their arrogance take over and that was the fight over.

As for Hein, I’m not sure that this was a last minute change of heart. Knowing exactly how strong her master’s bodyguard is, leaking their whereabouts wouldn’t exactly endanger them overly. And now it has lured out both the enemy’s high level infantry AND the one who has been coordinating intelligence for him, without any official record that they were there. This is an excellent opportunity to cripple both his spying and military output and then disappear without a trace and without any official blame. Now THAT is a master strategy!

Regarding Hein, it's certainly possible. She did say to her superior she suspected info were leaked to the faction sending assassins, while the info was supposed to stay within the organization itself, that she believed still neutral. So while she was planted, it seems to me she never intended to bring her harm. And she panicked becouse she knew assassins knew their locations, but could not speak.

He noticed her approaching, so I assume by that point even if she had thrown the knife at him he could have blocked it. And maybe she doesn't expect to survive after tying up this loose end, so she told the guy about her motivations just so someone would witness her loyalty.
