What's up with people on this site being so damn heartless? Why do you all treat the characters like shit?

Lol, fuck no. Just imagine letting in a bunch of people who have much superior powers than you have, what's stopping them from threatening you so they can permanently stay there and eat your food? not to mention that i'm pretty sure that all the girls there forgot he ever existed until they met him again, the girls seeing a convenient opportunity to freeload wouldn't surprise me. Why should he ever have to do something for them?

NOOOOOO!! Run man, Run! After all these years they are treating you like shit (except for the pres and the nerds, of course)... It's okay to be half-heartless sometimes.

Mmmh, people don't seem to understand the MC much...
First, he's incredibly socially awkward, that makes him easy to manipulate.
Second, the bitches never actually did anything wrong to him, and seem genuinely sorry for their previous wrongdoings.
And finally, the President was always nice to him, even when she didn't have anything to gain... you might say he owes her a bit of human decency.

Why shouldn't he help them, at least a tiny bit? The girls supposedly also have "cheat abilities" that they don't really know how to use, but could be incredibly beneficial to him (let me remind you guys that he actually only eats mushrooms...).
Oh, and this manga had the tag "Harem" since the beginning... it was quite clear that he wouldn't stay alone that long.

@lazygeko
He pretty much does that next chapter, pitching a tent outside his house to be alone (mostly because the bitches get a bit frantic when they discover his bathing utilities...)

@larcek Well from what I saw the rest of the class thought that he truly escaped the Isekai, as he left the classroom during the transport, didn't see him at the skill selection, and wasn't with them in the forest. To date people have only met him after he was well established and had things under control, more so than everyone else (which raises a few questions about how he levels up and gains skills so easily despite having nothing but 'trash' skills), so not being worried for him made sense.

The 'lonely' part of this, is just basically the title the mc have, he can't join a party, but that doesn't mean that he can't hang out with people, and while there is people around him, he isolate himself anyway, this wasn't explained that well in the manga, but being in a party have more benefit than being alone
because of other stuff he have and don't have, he is gimped in the exp gain, if he is around people and they kill something, he obviously not gonna get exp either, because he is not in their party
, if anyone want to know what happen next and can read japanese, just search the raws, they are up to chapter 19.

here some spoilers, including ones from the WN.

im going to avoid big plot spoilers, yes the girls keep being with him, at around chapter 15 in manga, they leave the forest and get into the city after mc save some people, they go to the adventurers guild, and this is when the first problem of being with the lonely title start, to join you need level 10 and mc is lvl 9 (while everyone else is around 30, and the class president with her special trait, being higher than that), there is 3 tier for the guild, lvl 10 with party, lvl 20 and lvl 30 solo adventurer, obviously since he can't join a party, he can't join the guild either even if he was level 10, which carry some problems, the girls start working for the guild, and he became a neet and stay at the inn, because he can't do shit and can't upgrade gear either, because of what he learn later (the world work around levels, if you don't have the required level you can't equip better gear, like lowest quality sword need level 20 lol), he later go back to the forest to collect stuff and level up, which don't do much because of his lower exp gain (he basically level from 9 to 11 or 12), when he finish his business there he go back to the city with everyone else, but he is always doing his own business while helping his classmates, some futher spoilers
the original WN have 295 chapters, the current WN have those 295 + new ones and it turn into a +18 one, for a total of currently 1450 chapters and still ongoing, because of some title and skills the MC get, so not sure if the LN gonna do that too, neither the manga, but that is a pretty long way until it get to that, the title come before, around 100-200 in the WN, but the action not until 296, WN+18 raw link https://novel18.syosetu.com/n7217ei/

I get why there is so much hate for those characters. They got to pick the best skills, he got just the scraps. (At least all of them, which might be the thing to make him op in the future.) Some of those people aren't trustworthy and most of them are quick to judge, which is especially bad news for an socially awkward person. (Okay, he did put those "mean girls" under mind control, which is enough reason to doubt him, but then again that's one more reason to stay away from them)

So yeah. He survived on his own, because he was alone. They would have made him run stupid errands and hinder his growth in the mean time anyways, if he would have been part of their group from the beginning. He was doing faaar better that those dead weights. And now, humbly asking for it or not, they are going to leech of from his work. Even I they mean it honestly now, they don't change charter so quickly.

He now does have a head start both in material things and skills. It's obviously a stupid idea to share both with people whose mini-society crumbled, because some wanted to dominate others. (And knowledge about his skills they will gain, when they spend too much time together.) It's great, if MC overcomes his social anxiety, but those people with prejudices of him ain't the right choice for this and this situation might endanger his life. (There is a reason, why many MC of other isekais start to run away directly after being summoned.) They pose a danger to MC. They would pose a danger to MC, if this wouldn't by a silly gag-manga.

Help? Sure. Yielding everything he has to them? How dare they ask for that?

EDIT: Okay, just read tseng's XP-thing. So it is a good thing to be in a party with them, but if it isn't explained in the manga (at this point), you can't help but feel annoyed.

Make them wear maid costumes and cook. Fair trade for them leaching off his efforts in creating a comfortable home.
