he likes to hear himself talk.
that being said, there is no way for anyone facing him as an enemy for the first time to know if he's telling the truth or if he's telling a bunch of truths to lull them into falling for a lie so it could be used for psychological warfare.
just not in this case as the one he was fighting wasn't even listening to him all that much.
