Ouch. So giving Delia a family backfired, huh? I wonder if this wouldn't have happened if Myne hadn't given her a family.

But does Delia prefer for Dirk to be taken somewhere foreign instead of at an orphanage where she can still see Dirk?

If Delia is still there, then it's truly a foolish move. She thinks by giving the child over to a noble he'll have a better life.

Nevermind that the baby was just bought and sold like a commodity, and the one to benefit is the Head Priest who kept the orphanage system the way it is her whole life.

I've mentioned it in previous threads, but what comes up next is pretty damn sad. We're probably 1 volume away from the end of this part of the story. And it's covered in the anime. So people can readily know what's coming up.

She's lied to by the Temple head about the conditions of his adoption. She thinks he's getting a normal employment adoption, so for a commoner orphan, that's a pretty sweet deal. Instead of the tragic magical battery Slavery that's he's actually being set up for.

I hope she gets burned hard, the stupid ungrateful fool, but that's not how stories go. She'll come back and be accepted again, as they usually do.
It's been covered in the anime. I'm not sure how you'll feel about what happens to her. It's definitely a punishment. But for me, she's definitely a tragic figure.

Many of the comments seem to miss the fact that Delia is a child, a naive one, that has lived her entire life in that temple, and has always been taught to always obey the Blue Priests. Delia was simply deceived by the Bishop. Also, the idea of adoption being a good thing was started by Myne.

I actually think the author wrote Delia very well. Delia could have been just a cog to make the story move along, especially for the critical chapters that are next, but she was very fleshed out, and was written in a very believable way.

Certainly a harsh punishment, and it would have been a death sentence if Myne had not pleaded to the Aub.

But for me, she's definitely a tragic figure.

Most definitely.

As tragic as this part is, I do love how it’s a sign of Myne s growth. She’s making the hard decisions even if she doesn’t want to. She knows this will end in tragedy for both of them. She knows the baby will become a slave who’s likely forced to kill but she isn’t trying some pointless plan to save him. She’s accepting reality

It is important to remember that her big plan in life was to become a sex slave. That is literally all she wanted because she thought it would mean a better standard of living. She has always been a foolish girl who doesn’t fully understand the consequences of her actions. So it’s not surprising that she thinks He’ll live a better life there and that the noble will treat Dirk with love and respect since after all, they’re a family. Also, I can’t remember the exact specifics, but maybe she was told that she would be bought as well so that she could serve as his caretaker. I do vaguely remember her saying that Dirk would be moved to the noble side of the temple where she could serve him until he came of age.

Unfortunately Part 2 is still not over yet, we have at least one more volume. So it's very likely that we'll have to take another break after 60.5 to wait for Vol.13 raw, but I guess everyone knows this by now.
That is definitely surprising, considering how much content is left. But I take that as a sign that they’re going to include all (or at least move) of the side stories from the last volume. Seriously, the last volume of this part of light novel is longer than the main story. As we see everybody s response to the ending.

Yeah, I imagine the conflict will take at least 2 chapters, another 2-3 for the aftermath and then the side stories (like finding out Freida's contracted noble).

My guess on remaining chapters:

1 for Delia talk
1 for moping
1 for the kidnapping
2 (at least) of temple fight
2 of aftermath - adoption and Myne's big spell
side stories

Vol.12 ends
right in the middle of the temple fight, as Ferdinad just finished restraining temple head and is now preparing to deal with the other noble while Myne protects everyone with her barrier.
. So I guess the entire vol.13 will be the aftermath, which may just be enough to cover everything the LN has to offer.

Sooo, is it finally time to finish what Myne started all those chapters ago with the Temple Head and "stare" at him until he stops "being a problem"?

We got chapter listings at least for this volume at the start of the chapter. Looks like you’re right for most of that. And the rest makes sense logically with how they’ll break things down.

Oh yeah, duh...honestly I just blew right through the first pages to get to the story. I appreciate that they're there, but I rarely pay any attention to them past the first chapter of the volume.
