. And I do love that his efforts to convince the other professors failed, since a big part of dunkelfger is that they’re basically an independent nation in terms of culture and beliefs. Nobody else thinks like they do so obviously he’s not as good at convincing people from outside his duchy even if he has a good points. The quality of graduating knights has actually dropped quite a bit thanks to this change

And I do love that his efforts to convince the other professors failed, since a big part of dunkelfger is that they’re basically an independent nation in terms of culture and beliefs. Nobody else thinks like they do so obviously he’s not as good at convincing people from outside his duchy even if he has a good points. The quality of graduating knights has actually dropped quite a bit thanks to this change

The counter argument is still valid though, that every places lost so much nobles that having treasure stealing ditter just isn't viable option for lesser duchies.

Remember that Myne was given blue priestess status because they were that short on people.

This is a really good chapter. We're so used to seeing the perspective of people in Myne's orbit that it's refreshing (and outright hilarious) to see how true outsiders view her. Truly, Hartmut is just the tip of the iceberg

he sounds alot like a robber baron. causing mischief n chaos everywhere, taking hostages or blackmail his way around the battlefields, while sowing discord in their alliance and cementing his prowess as master tactician and accomplished scholar/artificier with numerous potions and magic items.

i think its the other way around.

speed ditter can be played between smaller/lesser duchies like if they have less than 15/10 apprentice knights as they raced against other duchies on who take down the most feybeasts (and each feybeast will have different points granted for taking).

treasure stealing ditter should be played by larger/greater duchies that have 20 or more knights as it like a war game where they have a general directing multiple squads like one squad to disrupt the battlefield (like what ferdi did), a main subjugation squad consist of 4/5 elite knights with comparable mana to archduke/noble to attack and steal other duchies feybeast's core and set most of their knights to defend their own feybeast/territory.

Speed Ditter is more relevant to what knights do in their home dutchy, think the Lord of Winter battle Erenfest does every winter.
Treasure Stealing Ditter has a different purpose to prepare a dutchy for, the professor does hint to this when he talked about how the dutchies have to plan, form alliances, and such between even other dutchies showing that it is a ditter more relevant to actual warfare.
I do find it funny how Ferdinand didn't prioritize Erenfest to win.

Spoiler: Blame Veronica

Because Veronica had most of the Erenfest dutchy discriminate against him, his loyalty to the dutchy was almost zero at that time.

Also, Ferdi got to acquire a lot of ingredients exclusive to other dutchies with his schemes.

Spoiler: Supply chain is a reason the mid and small dutchies struggle too.

Every dutchy dorm has a gathering spot they get ingredients to make tools and potions with but these are not as bountiful as they once were. The knowledge of how to replenish them kinda got forgotten.
