It's in moments like these Myne's true age and the tragedy of her character are brought to the forefront (that the anime ignored). She's lost a family once and fully understands what it means to be adopted by a noble family. No matter how old she actually is inside, anyone would have a reaction like that if told they have to leave their family, especially after everything she's been through to continue being part of that family.

so you finally had to get told the situation you are in, and the posibilities you are facing?

idiot.

seriously, and she was already a young adult in her previous life, even if her common sense was shit, she was someone that must have known some bits of history and how nobles and royals like to "solve things" even if her being young, mess with her capacity to control emotions, it shouldn't make her uncapable of thinking about the consequences of her actions if she took the time to think.
Noble and Royality didn't solve things the same way in all country. There are huge differencies between all country in the culture and law, and in how people are punished.
She's just a kid from a commoner family, how would she know the law of the country?

People should realy stop with the "noble and royality kill people for no reason" as this has no root in reality.
The dude would've been sentenced to death in many country of our world. Trying to murder a child is often sentenced to death when the death exist.

She been through a lot and finally have a family of her own, and it’s taken away from her yet again, feel sad man. Btw nobles in this novel the word “coexist“ are barely the right word with their relationship with commoner, to be more accurate, Noble tolerate their existence and pretend it’s not there. So myne family going to become obsolete once she turn into noble, and with how noble can do anything to commoners without any consequence, it’d be far easier to just kill them off to cut the loose end.

I find it funny reading people's comments. Not that I can or want to criticize anyone. But may I point out something?

Urano was probably never an emotionally mature or well adjusted adult. I think the author did a great job with blending Myne's psychy.

Actually, I would Love to hear a professional therapist do a breakdown on her psychological state for each part. Myne is a very interesting and flawed individual, and I love it! ^.^

Trying to remember, when was Mine put in the reflection room?
She was put in the reflection room as punishment for not keeping the temple courtyard clean during the festival.

In case you don't recall, the festival involves throwing Taoh fruits at each other (kind of like water balloons), but Myne's mana apparently made the fruits sprout into Toronbe. And those Toronbe ended up making a mess of some of the dirt and stone blocks in the courtyard.

The festival was in Chapter 15 and the punishment (reflection room) was in Chapter 17.

The way the story is written out, the body seems to frequently have an influence on the mind here. I forget where we are in this manga since updates are so long between, but for instance,
Myne notes she never really had music talent in her old life as Urano but here she's picked up on it with surprising ease, as if Myne has a strong talent for music.

Any reasons why they can't "adopt" the whole Myne family? Like hiring them as live-in servants in a noble's house?
Because they dont plan to officially adopt her but pretend she is that guys 3rd wife(who is dead) daughter.

Her rank would be an arch noble, not a lay noble like damean. If people learn of her origin it would create a big problem politically as she would face endless scrutiny not just within her dutchy but in the country as a whole. Aka, your idea would make everyones lives 100x harder

Way more emotional than the anime, love it!
Anime always lack detail due to limited time.

In reality if a situation like Myne's were to occur the body I'd expect a really skilled child but a child none the less. Kami Tachi also has something similar, but he starts off like an adult but starts to regress to his age though I do not know to what extent. I see the body as the medium to which our soul interacts with the universe. kind of like how a computer is the medium to the internet.

man, there are still countries, that includes punishments for lèse-majesté in their law. You should recheck your sources.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lèse-majesté

and let's not talk about dictatorships...
Lèse-majesté is not something that mean "all noble can kill everyone". It mean that if you dirty the name of a member of Royality you can be sentenced to death. It's also used for leader even in non dictatorship. But all of this is only from someone toward the leader of a country.
Here it's literaly just a crazy idiot that tried to kill a child because he is stupid.
All there is here is the law punishing an idiot that attacked a member of the temple that was extremely usefull, even vital, and decided that killing him would make other understand their place.

hello, LN reader here, i will try to explain as best as i can without spoiling but just in case i will put a spoiler tag up

Upper ranked nobles (or archnobles as they are called in the LN) hire nobles from lower ranked nobles (med nobles and lay nobles) and members of their own family who didn't have enough mana to be recognized as an archnoble, commoners that act as servants will mainly be found in lay nobles household and even then, it's a pretty rare case.
The most a commoner can be to a noble family is very tedious work like cook and stable hand

there Are plenty of reasons. Noble society just generally sucks so they won’t do that. Even if they did, they’d be heavily looked down upon by other servants who are of noble blood, they aren’t qualified to serve nobles (Luz and Myne are barely qualified after about a year of studying how to interact with nobles) and just overall, they’d be miserable. There’d be no role for them to serve other than keeping Myne happy and theyd be a prime target to exploit in order to hurt Myne

there’s also some stuff about their plan to adopt Myne that they didn’t get into here and I don’t know how to mark a spoiler but let’s just say they’d be an inconvenience

im admittedly not an expert in history but I’ve never heard of a mid-ranked noble of any country getting a death penalty for scratching a priest. And it’d be even rarer for the entire family to be at risk for getting wiped out.

these nobles are way more bloodthirsty than most I’ve read about in history. Sure they’d usually kill commoners for petty reasons but it’d take a lot more than that to threaten wiping out a noble family. At most, I thought they’d maybe drop a rank, have to pay a huge fine, and deal with some house arrest, but these nobles go right for either murder or exiling people to the temple

Can’t remember the exact chapter but it was after the orphans wanted to celebrate the starbind ceremony and Myne accidentally summoned a trombe tree that damaged some of the temples tiles.

that’s when Ferdinand purchased her bedding so she could rest in her room, which was a VERY hard decision for him because typically men only buy bedding for their mistresses. But he decided it’d be better to be thought a lolicon than deal With her health issues. Good man
