yes, honestly it is good that Lemon is finally facing it, but we shouldn't hate on this university student for her mistake in middle school. Lemon gave Sunao trauma, but not on purpose, it was a stupid lie she made in order to cut the romantic relationship, a very bad lie that hurt Sunao, but afterwards she was not there to see his hurt, and when she saw him again the topic of their relationship was avoided because both of them were uncomfortable about it and then there was the swap.
Yes, I agree like I said I don't hate the character XD, I really like her, I know that she ended up making a mistake in middle school even then she reflect on what she did afterwards, from middle school to university people really tend to change with the years, is good that they ended up facing each other and we're finally facing the mistakes, my point was that I'm going to feel bad for kogahara XD and if would be cool that both mc's become good friends again and not be kinda uncomfortable with each other

We should hate on her for letting the lie linger for half a decade without once considering the impact it might have had on the guy she swears she still loves. That's middle-school Lemon, high-school Lemon, college Lemon, even post-swap Lemon. It's damage she could have mitigated at any point between then and now, but she had to be beaten over the head with it by a clueless third party before the notion even crossed her mind.

How dare this story progress the main point. What are the comments supposed to get angry about for my entertainment now?

The answer is apparently still the same thing.

It took her 56 chapters and someone else mentioning it to have her notice she told him some fucked up shit and, then acted like it never happened? 😐

Next chapter will have them talking in circles and getting flustered, until Lemon gets interrupted by her mom or some other random person. Then the chapter will end before Lemon can get to what she wanted to say.
And that's assuming she even reaches the house without getting stopped by another excuse to stall, like running into the person who convinced her to dump Sunao in the first place.
no no no, actually, one of them is going to die, ands it's going to be revealed that they still swap, just that soul is just kinda not alive during said swap day, and the story starts tackling what happens when body swapping out of existence.

Do we, the readers, know why Lemon lied to Sunao in middle school? I can’t remember at this point.

Fwiw my (charitable) reading is that shes just really clueless socially(this conflicts a bit with the setup that everybody likes her that happens in the first chapter but whatever). We see her multiple times not pick up on social cues, shes awkward quite a bit, be it in sunanos body or her own and she didnt even notice that she was on a date with her roommate that one time. Maybe she just cant understand things until they happen to her and the whole "walk a mile in my shoes" business is the first time shes considered things properly from sunaos perspective.

Then again, if i went back i imagine i can probably find multiple examples of her going "wow that would suck yea" about scenarios she has never experienced so maybe thats not it.
So maybe its really just that she was repressing it because she selfishly didnt want to own up to her past mistakes and keep "taking his kindness for granted". Maybe she was afraid that bringing the topic up would destroy the fragile bond theyve build and dash any chances for her to get together with him again. She herself doesnt seem quite sure why she has been avoiding it, so its up to us to speculate for now.
You can interpret it kindly and you can certainly interpret it malicously, personally im going with stupid until proven otherwide.
I am kinda curious as to the actual reason she broke up woth him and the actual reason she didnt talk about it til now, but i doubt well get either in the next chapter

Character drama where the one thing it's based on is never addressed? You can't introduce the main idea and treat it as a background thing just because you have no idea how to incorporate it into the story. I would have loved lemon trying to know about MMC more. It is what anyone would do right? It's hammered again and again that lemon loves him. But has she ever done something to back it up? I would love if lemon is actually an anti-heroine. That would explain her actions. A complete narcissist who only cares about herself. But no, author inserted a dedicated chapter just to show how "kind" lemon is. I'm just frustrated because at first I thought this series is mature and character are mature but after that college fest arc everyone became visibly dumb just so lemon can dodge her past problems.

💀First few pages were a jumpscare, revealing that the cause of Sunao's vow and 'witch' were referring to girls other than Lemon, I wouldn't put it past the author to somehow stop this development dead in its tracks again.

I fact it would be even more strange if it didn't, 56 chapters and my expectations have eroded into nearly nothing

Saying she gave someone trauma, but not on purpose is a wild thing to say 😂..

It's called trauma for a reason, for something to turn into trauma it has to have a deep lasting "wound" mentally, even if she did it in middleschool she never once tried even apologising for it, nor even think about it, since she apparently had already entirely forgotten about it, until a third party mentioned it, which honestly makes it kinda weird for her to act like she loves him that much and all. 😶

Though considering the swap it's a supernatural story, so you could say her power might very well be the lacking common sense. 😶

the point that she didn't do it on purpose is to state again that she didn't do it maliciously.
Also, she had not "entirely forgotten" about it until now that a third party brought it up, in chapter one, the very first chapter, she laments having lied to him, but it wasn't brought up until after the swap and the conversation was interrupted when Natsumi showed up.
Lemon was not malicious, what we have is someone who made a huge mistake, and that mistake led to them distancing each other, for which there was no place for it to be corrected until they met again by happenstance, but the whole swap happened and shit. I don't hate Lemon because I don't see her actions as malicious, her actions were stupid and cowardly, but not malicious.
And there was no way for her to actually know how Sunao lived those years, she had hoped life had moved on, Sunao rarely brought up their past relationship after the swap, and never after the first episode did he bring up the reason why they broke up with her.

Lemon does not know what the audience knows about what went on Sunao's head, the only clues Lemon has about how it affected Sunao is what she has talked with him, and the uncomfortable topic, even if they have thought separately about it, has not been tackled directly between the two, they have been more focused on managing the swap, their daily lives and their current relationships.

He can't exactly say : "Hey, you remember how you dumped me after telling me how you did all those guys", when she acts like nothing happened 😐

Also, my point stands with her superpower being lacking common sense, or wait for the plottwist of it never having been lemon and it being a third person who swapped, since by manga standard middleschoolers would at least know saying that would extremely hurt someone, which would logically be the reason she said it in the first place, knowing it'd have them break up for sure

My problem is it feels like we are reading completely different characters. Lemon made up that lie to break up with him, she did know it would hit Sunao hard enough for them to break, but her mistake was also underestimating how much. I am not defending her actions, but seeing people be vindictive against a 20~ year old Lemon for the stupid thing she did at 14~ is kind of crazy to me.

I am not putting blame on Sunao, what I am saying is Lemon has no idea how deep it hurt Sunao, because unlike us the audience, the only clue she has is her memory of the brake up and the one time it was brought up after the swap. Middleschool Lemon made a terrible mistake that deeply hurt Sunao, yes, but that doesn't make Lemon a monster who deserves to suffer. I want to see her deal with it, I want to see the consequences, I want to see how she faces it, but I don't see the character in this terrible light a lot of people seem to.

Also, there is no "manga standard" for ages, in some manga people act way too mature for their young age, in others the opposite with characters very immature despite their adult age, it is something that comes with each writer. And no it can't be some third person swap plot twist, we already know that Lemon remembers the lie and regrets it, and we know this body swapping thing is as new to her as it is to Sunao.
