LET'S GOOOO MORE CHOKKII

So they're essentially in a stalemate? Gonna need their friends In the gal club to give em a'lil push :wooow: :wooow: :wooow: :wooow:
Yeah we definitely need something. Chokki's graduation doesn't seem to pose that big of a threat (they resolve that already) so a love rival? though that's really old (and dumb) at this point. Maybe it's up to them to know what they want outside of having fun.

I can't really imagine any situation that would push them to be together, when she graduates he'll go pick her up at college or something, if she moves maybe she'd feel sad enough about that he'd feel the need to do something.

Since the "issue" is that they are already happy with their relationship, then what we need is a situation to make them sad, and for the best solution to be becoming a couple.

However it's hard to create such a situation without drama, which would create a lot of friction with the readers, there are some ways that could avoid "love drama", such as the death of a loved one or other dramatic forms of "abandonment".

Other ways of making them want to close the distance would imply separating them for some time, but that could easily drag out and feel like wasted time for the readers.

honestly - everything about this series has been a case of the world opening up before Shunpei's eyes.
He was bereft of "want and purpose" in the wake of losing the One Thing he had in his life before high school. By chance, he got roped into this fake club, and was pushed into walking home with an eccentric senpai who collected stickswords and weird rocks and talked to a Big Cat Who Might Be a Deitycitation needed.
And it was after Chokki-senpai entered his life that he started seeing in full color again, and in turn he began to change her perception of things, and brought light to her own world in discovering just how much more of life you could capture when you have someone to share the "little moments in-between" with.

They're both simultaneously helping and saving and nurturing the other. Yes, "conventional romance" is all well and good and I find it very difficult to see them not being together by the time this story ends.
But for 50 chapters now, they've been going at their own pace, and even making tangible progress--at their own pace, with minimal actual external "help" or interference from others.

Sayo kinda had it right, I think - they don't need help. But not because they're a lost cause; but because this is their path together, and if it's meant to be for them, then it'll happen with certainty because they're both invested in one another and--even if they think "it's fine as-is", they've both reached for more before now, and I'm sure they will again when the times comes.

If anything, I'd argue that another external force acting upon them--whether that's well-meaning friends or the completely-unnecessary love rival--would actually run counter to the spirit of the manga.

It's not about them rushing to the finish line. It's about finding all the small moments on the way between Point A and Point B. Between school and home, between friends and lovers, between being alone and being together.

Man I hate this "status quo is good enough" trope so much!!! Thats how you end up drifting apart post graduation and loosing each other ffs!

I hope author is self aware enough to realize that what the gal said has some truth to it and doesnt drag his feet on the story. These two are too adorable together to just leave as is!

I dont think they need to be sad or anything.
What they need is to realize that there is something even better than what they have right now. Chokki already got a small taste of it with Shun's grandma. Maybe if she get another and realizes "oh shit this is way better" then we could get some serious progress.

For example, imagine she for whatever reason ends up thinking about living together with Shun and her getting easy daily access to a good sniff like when they slept together. Or something harmless (like a pretty clothing store clerk compliments him) makes her get jealous again and realize "oh wait, I can lose him! Better lock it down so nobody can steal my sniff source"

It doesn't have to be sad. Sad doesn't fit in this type of manga. Realizing there are many and far more exciting adventures to be had TOGETHER as opposed to staying separate is more the correct vibe.

Exactly - It not being "something sad", and instead just further discovery that pushes them further along and closer together is also appropriate and directly applicable to this title.

It's the "Journey Home After School". And everything Chokki & Shun get up to is finding all the little reasons that make the world the amazing place it is. Love is absolutely a facet of that, and they'll find it when they're ready for it, and when they've "traveled" that far together.

If there was ever a romcom manga that should celebrate the journey toward a relationship and not try to rush or force progress, this is the one.

Sayo was correct from the start. They shouldn't be interfered with, because anything that artificially skips over the time they spend together in pursuit of some conventional concept of 'romance' is, in my opinion, losing sight of what this title is all about.
