...So, HOW exactly do you CARVE something harder than diamond?
Slowly sand, polish, or grind it down with an abrasive which is what he's doing. He was basically austistic enough and managad to chisel it down and get some of the dust from it and then used that dust to polish it down.

We already have materials harder than 10 on the mohs scale. Last I heard was 13?

But if you can get mohs 11 just from raining electric crystals, erosion is going to be a LOT scarier.

Huh, an apocalyptic scenario where the MC isn't immediately a survival expert / disaster prepper, but instead actually has to struggle sort of? That's different.

5090... Man I'm jealous, I can't even afford 5060 with how low value my currency and how low my wage is (if compared to western standard), for rough estimation average American earn 10 times more than me so pc parts feel like up to 10 times more expensive

Shouldn´t the abrasive be a lot "harder" than the material?

There's plenty of the same or similar material all around in flakes. So he either used that or managed to get some flakes from the rock itself. Then coated his tools with it and was able to work on it and get more flakes. Idk it been awhile since I've read this. But that was something similar to how they worked with diamonds back then.
