How to alter the layout of the site?

I'm not sure how to word this exactly, but usually when I'm using mangadex, the interface looks like the first image in https://imgur.com/a/cu5TjJI.

When I click on the settings icon in the toolbar, the layout expands to fill the width of the window (the second photo).

Is there any way I can keep that expanded layout? I tried digging through the site settings, but I didn't see any options for that.
