Yeah, how about asking MC to apologize for 'just observing' when the rebels were attacking the carriage instead of coming in to save them? Would easily show they're not with the rebels/'good person' to not get shot.

I read the novel and there is more details. They are being ambushed by traitors here, the archer thought they were involved since why would they be watching

The archer is not a guard but an adventure who is like a childhood friend, they are doing the princess a favor. They still doubt the mc.

They are by nature a very cautious person

Their master and adopted father betrayed and became an undead willingly and their life goal at this point is to kill the person they trusted most

The princess is asking for help because she realized mc must be very powerful and I think she does apologize on behalf of the archer

Violet's goal at this point is information, especially ones normal people can't get. So a princess is a good way to get info

She doesn't care about the archer and understands why the archer is being cautious. If you are on a battlefield, you can't blame someone for attacking first, asking questions later. It is war

Even if mc slept and did nothing, archer wouldn't be able to hurt her. The robe has a passive ability of all damage below a certain level gets turned to 0

Regarding discussion above, excuses are never matter in diplomatic incident, in light hearted story, the archer is supposed to be punished, in realistic story, she would be executed and her head offered as apologize, if the princess actually have a brain, she would consider this incident as offending a goddess, so the kingdom would be expected to make reparation.
