I think it's a game setting. Like, his Achilles' heel in the game. Like, the usual RPG where the last boss who knows that his family still alive suddenly got a massive debuffs and then beg the main character to kill them because they are ashamed to meet the surviving family member as the last boss

Honestly, he's closer to Ainz than Cid. He has a set goal and for the most part knows what he's doing. What he does not know is what happens AFTER he does something.

His ultimate goal is to keep the Sins in check by giving them a good childhood, of which he did very splendidly. He just doesnt know he accidentally made a cult of him instead.
