@grinning_Idiot my guess is that her "memories of her past life" are more like dreams at this point having faded mostly so she doesn't remember everything super well. Or she may have memories of it but didn't 'experience' it if that makes sense. That's my rationalization anyways.

@garnzlok I think it's more of something along the lines of that since she got her memories back so early, they kinda faded out with time, since on the day-to-day she was more focused on staying alive most likely, along with being in her early developmental years. Because, if you really try to remember, you can only remember maybe twenty things from when you were six or younger, and most of those things are things that had a pretty dramatic impact on your mentality. So, she likely remembers that she got memories from her past life, the general identity of who she was in her past life, but not specifics like how she was raised or what constituted normal treatment of children

Having memories of a past life and abruptly changing into that person upon getting them seem like two different things to be honest. We're sort of used to the "I remembered my past life, I'm that person again now" thing from various isekai series by now, but just getting the memories on their own seems like it could be more along the lines of having watched a really long movie or something. When you were a kid, things you saw weren't always understood immediately either. Ever watch an old movie or such from your childhood and suddenly realize "Oh wow, I did not catch that before" about something in it? Maybe the setting of the story was way darker than you thought or there were things left in there specifically for adults to pick up on like a sneaky dirty joke.

Seeing things and having experienced them or understanding them could be fairly separate matters here. She could remain the little girl who was just used to being locked in a box, because that was her normal. The past life memories might be the thing that seems weird to her if regaining them didn't immediately attach a her to her former sense of self as well. Loving parents that don't lock their kid in a box while the fuck strangers for money? "How peculiar." I don't know, man. Either way around is still about something it's not like any of us have ever experienced. When's the last time you woke up with your past life's memories? I sure haven't done so thus far.

@esp I get you, it would only give you a better understanding of your surroundings but that's it. A person never matures fully, we only act as how we think mature is in front of others and properly judge before taking a decision but not all people can do that constantly and correctly.

Even with trauma understanding that which we fear helps to lower the fear of the thing.

I find it hilarious that you forgot that the MC is supposed to recall her previous life. If a modern Korean girl of 23 years of age, doesn't know what lightning and thunder are, then we have to question what the frack is the point of that characteristic to begin with.
Heck, at this point in the story, it still seems utterly pointless of a characteristic. It served no purpose other than to make the MC seem a little bit more mature, but she still acts like an oblivious child, so there's no actual use for it, really.

I did not forgot that but following "isekai by reincarnation" tropes so far the "memories of a previous life" are useless and only reason to exist is to explain the level of maturity of the character despise their age, which is why I question if she knows what thunder and lightining are.
They never impact the story, the memories are never used to develop anything that is not food and it is never explained how the memories integrate with the character previous memories (is the MC the same person as the previous life or is the character the new persona with previous memories, for example) and the memories seen to not impact the way the character acts in anyway (no actions that would be done by instinct for how common they were made in the previous life being done and seen as strange because it is soemthing that is not done by those in the new life, things like that).

Usually it is just a plot device and has no impact in the overall story so, yeah...

And I found it funny that you ""forgot"" about it, because of how utterly pointless it is. Because, yeah, as far as I read, it has no purpose in the story at all. Maybe the one who actually forgot about it was the author, lel.

@mahtan understanding helps to lower the fear? Um I’m fairly sure people with arachnophobia for example are quite familiar with what spiders are, and that doesn’t help them at all, especially with fears caused by trauma. Plenty of grown up people have fears. Heck I know what lightning is and my neighbour and his son died from one while holding hands, so it actually makes sense to be scared of it, more so than spiders. And there’s still a chance her previous life will matter later on in the story.

Though now she could be elsewhere since she got bloody 20,000 gold for the daughter. Unless gold is as cheap as dirt in that world, it would be a huge sum of money.

I mean with how far along the manga we are now, when she was kidnapped they literally were about to destroy a few places. So, imagine what they would do if they knew how much DAILY abuse she had from a parent. Granted they also knew what happened to people like her and that's a considerable reason why they have such a strong hate for wizards, well among a few other things.

I can’t believe I haven’t seen any comments about HOW OBNOXIOUS THE WATERMARKS ARE !!!! I’ve seen quite a few different scanlation groups’ works and watermarks are to be expected since they don’t want their work to be stolen but I’ve never seen it to the point where I want to shoot myself in the face. It’s not even like a little watermark in the corner it’s a huge watermark on the characters’ damn hair in every two panels. I can’t take this seriously at all it’s so frustrating.
