I actually like the amount of communication and restraint that Mei shows here. We have seen she can be rather infatuated (lustful/horny) at times but I like that she does have a line or (ethics if you will) that she won’t cross given her set up conditions. I interpret those conditions as she only wants to be intimate if love is involved not just getting frisky to relieve stress.

So what I took from this is that they are not dating at this time or at the very least have an open relationship/friends with benefits (kissing). She promised to support her and may have inadvertently, in the heat of the moment, promised to be devoured by Karin? Or at least the top of her?

So, I'm not seeing anyone here mentioning Karin's issues from her childhood clearly affecting her strongly, to the point of it being actual trauma.



That doesn't make how she acts okay (and she's definitely not my 'favorite'). However, think about what these things did to her psychology:



- Being put into acting by her mother starting as a literal baby.



- Only being giving love / attention by her mother via cake as a reward for giving good performances. (A big one, and clearly the root of her taste = 'love' fixation).



- Feeling inadequate and being sure she just won't be good enough, so she cycles back through trying to ignore her fears with those deep-seated unhealthy coping mechanisms.
