I don't know how Vietnam handles pronouns, so I don't know if it's a translation thing, but if you notice, based Toan uses she/her pronouns without question, but Hung uses he/him probably because he can't process the change. It'll be interesting to see if the pronoun situation evolves as the story continues.

tbh we use pronouns in a very complicated way, which were "compressed" when translated into English. But in original version, all characters use he/him pronoun. Guess it was mis-translated into English.
