That fireball thing is the most bullshit thing I've ever seen an author do to force a stupid misunderstanding in a story. Like... why is a fireball harder to manipulate than willing ice into existence and freely puppeteering them through magic? Why is it that she can spew out large, devastating flames but nothing measly and useless like fireball? That's such a bullshit to a level I can't even comprehend.
tbf that's probably what he thought too

MC an ex farmer, doesnt know a monotaur isnt a cow. Somehow thinks goblins maybe too much for him even though he dodged all the noble sons deadly attacks like they were nothing.

This misunderstand, communication and underestimation tropes make this a painful unfun read.

This is just so fkin stupid.
Can ANY authors please stop making excuses of background stories that make these kind of misunderstandings?
Surely, there isn't such as coincidence her tutor made her think a "stove flame" is stronger than what he showed to our MC.
A simple, "you are a lot stronger than me". Or "let me explain why this minotaur was so strong, aka the cow". Will fkin suffice. I've seen noone that made the mc character realize how strong he is through his friends showing how weak they are in comparison.

Not even my Mom is this stupid, and she cannot read the room at all.

i've read plenty of stories with mc's that are denser than a neutron star but this one takes the cake for being the only one with negative iq. i mean he makes people with an iq of 1.89 look like Einstein. even luffy and zoro are smarter than this dumbass.

This series needs the tragedy tag, because it's seriously tragic how dense this MC is.

This trope reminds me of two mangas with hyperdense MCs, one about a Cursificer, and one about an atelier meister. Much like those two, I don't think I can deal with reading more chapters about this needlessly dense MC.

So what I'm getting from this is that the qualifications to become an adventurer and the ranking system are broken and guild leaders are too dense to petition for exceptions. Meanwhile the MC is too mentally handicapped to recognize his own capabilities let alone common sense. I mean FFS the king gives you a gift of a sword and you treat it like a shovel for cleaning gutters. Authors need to get past this perpetual dumbass MC cliche. Let them be ignorant for a chapter or two then make them realize. Maybe it's better that he isn't a proper adventurer since his level of obliviousness could cost others their lives.

I don’t have a problem with MC being clueless. He was an orphan longing to learn more. He was cast out of every school that blocked his dreams. He trained alone for the rest of childhood. He has no real social skills or education.
But MC uses his power and skills in guild jobs all the time. Being stronger than 5 men is Captain America power at least and would stand out. Surely someone would have informed the guild and cause some reevaluation of MC!

The blatant stupidity of everyone around MC is frustrating. Explain his strength to him or realize it at least in an open manner!

I am DYING AAAÃAàaæAA

Noru, my man. A S-team vanquisher minotaur is not just a strong buffalo. Yes you know of a fireball, only that you can cast it with power akin to the First Fcking Flame. That gutter-cleaner Fume Greatsword is a national treasure whose unbreakability is a literal mystery. You're strong enough to be an inspiration and individual of desire from the royal family. But dang it, okay T T.

Congrats on starting the goblin subjugation quest. God knows those goblins are going to be AOE one-shot material

Author-san's writing is so good it's giving me stomach cramps goddammit*cries

Literally none of this makes sense because they didn't front-load his "Failure" to become an adventurer in the first chapter.
