Is the hiatus still ongoing? Regardless, WBG if someone can scanlate the 2nd vol.
A Cleaner is someone who cleans all the bubbles and textboxes, and also adjusts the contrast of the pages (especially if scanned from physical pages, tho nowadays it’s easier to to specifically that with scanner apps which can automate the contrast work). A good cleaner ensures that no details get lost in the contrast adjustments, and that the text bubbles and boxes are actually clean; i’ve seen bad cleaning where the raw text still exists and the typesetter just slaps the TL on top of it, creating text vomit.
A redrawer is someone who uuuh…redraws. Specifically useful when the scanlator plans to TL the sound effects and other dialogue on top of a non-plain background. Some scanlaters circumvent some need to redraw by adding a textbox or not TL-ing sound fx, but sometimes text sizes are different enough to need a redraw. With AI tools, some scanlators have abused it to the point you can see where the AI did a slapchop job using PSD stamps (especially on speedscanner groups such as comicdom and rithar scans)
Considering what they do, it’s usually logical (and cheaper) for both offices to be combined into CLRD since they do similar things.
