The axe is devastating, but at least we got a kiss, and there are still so many yuri moments with yuri couples in this, including two legendary height gap yuri couples.

Really wish to have seen more of Shion and Violet, as well as Dahlia and Lyla, especially a kiss, but we still at least got confirmation they're official yuri couples. So much we could have had, but this is still something.

They actually don't,even mentioned in the longer lasting one that audiences actually liked the combo.

The larger problem,though,is that non-self-insert series are stuggling more in Japan(more so thanks to the endless slop that tries to cash in on reincarnation[to the point some competitions outright ban it]),especially superheros with romance in them(even if they get an animated adaption),whilst anything else that's original,as you said,don't have a source to back it up...but even those with sources struggle.
