So it wasn't just me. She really looked weird since last chapter. It's hard to describe but her eyes and smile look overtly cutesy, borderline artifical. It gives her a kind of confidence that she hasn't shown before.


In comparison, this is Mimi during her previous performances. She had a more the determined and cool look, it gave her a kind of scrappy vibe.

Based on aria saying that mimi’s confidence is making her charms shine more im going to guess that this round is going to be the first time that Mimi is ranked first, mainly off of popularity vote with a little more concern for her ego in the judges scores that she will probably dismiss due to the overwhelming love and support she’s getting from the nalus.

Unfortunately I think the rollercoaster is still going up and we will hit full god complex mimi and the inevitable downfall in the next arc with lots of conflict with the other girls and the judges on the way.

I also think it would be really interesting reality check given the theming of this chapter if Mimi’s ego leads her to being expectant of the nalus love which ends up putting her fans off

I hope this is the up arc of Mimi learning she does have what it takes, maybe gets somewhat humbled in the next, and then the arc after she finds resolve in her friends to truely do her best. Either way, I love this series.

which seems a bit odd since she started the story with her old idol group disbanding and the story rebuilding her confidance.

It's clear that the author want to build up Mimisuke to make her crash and burn, but I don't think she deserves it? Like the moment she get a little confidence in herself, after years of grueling work, she has to get humbled?
