Ignoring the elephant in the room that the only reason she was enslaved in the first place was because her leader fell in love with a guy who wasn’t the self-insert MC, if she never met him, she wouldn’t be a slave in the first place. So going “I could’ve been sold to a worse person” is fucking stupid because she could’ve always just met Harold as a free woman, and for them to start a relationship as equals instead of one that only exists because he owns her.

Seriously, why the fuck do narou writers still try to do this sort of shit? Not only do they jump through hoops to explain why the MC buying a slave is not only justified but recommended, but by writing it they seem to confess that the reader is so pathetic that the only way their self-insert could get laid is if they purchased them. Because that’s the only redeeming quality the readers are assumed to have: the ability to spend thousands of dollars on shit they don’t need.
