If this turns into another way to draw out the plot uselessly and doesn’t offer progression… ugh…
That's not a no. That's something people do when they want to say no but don't want to say it outright because they'd look mean or whatever if they said no. So they go "oooooooh dang, sorry bro, my grandma died for the 8th time that day. I gotta go to her funeral again. I really want to stay and help you move, I was really looking forward to helping you lift that fridge of yours, but y'know, family duty. Grandma only get like 8 funerals."She did tell him "no", though. She said she wasn't going to go home with him, and re-iterated that they no longer had anything to do with each other. That itself took courage. The issue was that she did it "mildly", the prince was intentionally misinterpreting her words in the most positive way possible, and started putting pressure on her when her only option left was to explicitly tell him to stop everything.
Seriously, he clearly got the message that she wanted him to eat a dick, he just doesn't take "no" for an answer.
Yeah but he's not trying to make up. All he wants is popularity. The worst part of it all is that he doesn't want to do work for it. He takes or transforms her qualities into something negative to sate his needs. She's too smart so he asks her not to study; he has to be the smart one in the relationship. He wants to seem taller so he told her to be a delinquent so people would say the poor prince has to deal with this woman as his fiance. So then he has to be the reasonable one in the relationship. He is full blown cheating on her but it gets overlooked because he has her and the other girl attack those who he flirts with. She now has a god tier spirit. They suddenly have to get back together. The prince is a putz. I always thought there was more under there because he doesn't or hasn't shown his spirit so I thought his manipulations had purpose but this chapter has dissuaded me of that notion. He's just a future emperor with a childish superiority complex.I do sometimes wonder if I'd still be following this one if the art wasn't so damn good.
Brigitte having to be actively propped up by others to stop her from instantly folding is frustrating. It may be a realistic depiction of the typical abuse victim who gives a second chance too many to the guy whose about to murder her but it's incredibly frustrating to read.
That being said, Joseph is a fucking idiot too. He doesn't need Brigitte's consent at all, he can just go over her head to her dad. He might have to pay a penalty to reinstate the engagement that he threw away because he's a stupid fucker, but I'm sure he could do it.
I’ll disagree since her confessing that she loved someone else was the full spread. That felt like the climax to meI mean, the focus on the scene was clearly him stepping up to support her. That was the big, climactic moment - not her standing up for herself.
Nope.![]()
surely he takes the hint and doesn't bother us anymore, right?![]()
I never said he was trying to make up with her. I meant that he doesn't need her consent to force her to be with him again.Yeah but he's not trying to make up. All he wants is popularity.
