The source of delay is random. Maybe some hard to fix or unfixable bug would get introduced. Maybe the truck delivering hard copies gets into an accident or the site where it's hosted gets hacked. The delays will also be indefinite. It could span within a few seconds or minutes to years, which could cause internal issues within the devs/companies involved.
