@nightmoves17 Yeah the contest that the challenge between Senpai and President is based on is a popularity contest. However there are some things to consider;
1. President never had to resort to "marketing herself" in order to win last year's contest. Yeah the art piece was a glorified pinup of President, but the art piece was all she used. She didn't resort to advertisement strategies or try to pull a sort of campaign to get the other students vote for the art club. President just made the painting, displayed it for everyone to see, and let her art speak for itself.
2. Despite the fact that her art pieces can be considered smut, President clearly believes in her art. She talks about how you need inspiration and love for the art you create. She doesn't see her artwork as presenting herself for everyone to ogle she sees her artwork as legitimate. And considering how her work got her notoriety in the art community as well as the school, she has a good reason to think that.
This campaign might make President call out Senpai for not letting his artwork speak for itself like she's doing. Or the more interesting route, it might make Senpai upset with Nagatoro and the friends. Senpai might interpret this as the girls thinking that his art isn't good enough to win on its own and this undermining of his abilities, plus the possibility of Senpai being jealous of the new attention Nagatoro might be getting from people (other guys), might be the straw that breaks the camel's back, and he might lash out at them.
Or he could just be annoyed at the Nekotoro strategy and the entire thing will be glanced over as a one off gag. Point is, there is a reasonable way this might result in some drama via accusations of outside interference from the President or Senpai getting upset at how this marketing strategy undermines his artistic ability and/or is turning Nagatoro in this pseudo-idol for the school to gawk at.
