my interpretation of this is that it looks like shion only married the prince so she could stay with maria? they never show attraction to each other, so it could be just for the sake of ease. even with Maria loving the prince, i don’t really see it diminishing the wlw aspect with the fact that she could very well just be bi and that this still is focused on maria and shion’s relationship.

Like is Shion expected to bear heirs? Or just Maria?
Shion doesn't love the prince, but her relationship with Maria wasn't necessarily romantic either, compared to some of the others in this anthology. If it's platonic then it's just the Prince and Maria married in romantic love with Shion as a second princess solely for the sake of keeping their friendship?
