No.. I'm betting we get forgivness because he was doing it for the best interest of his son. Rarely do asshole parents get called out as assholes in Manga.

Your probably right, sadly enough. Seeing genuinely good characters strive for the admiration of careless pathetic excuses for parents is one of the story tropes I wish manga would change. Teach readers it's sometimes best to just walk away and live your best life with people who actually do care about you.

Unfortunately, in a culture were respecting your elders and thinking the group is more important than you, things like that are rarely even thought of.
