No romcom is complete without dead, divorced, sick, or shitty parents.
Hikari, run away, run faster, don’t look back.

Fair enough. Didn't even thought the implications of Yami's attitude being the result of her mother's actions.Yami went from codependent relationship with Yuu to codependent relationship w/ her mother b/c apparently that's all her mother ever modeled for her and Yami centering the ship around sex is every "deadbeat mom" in manga, so probably also learned from her mom.
Yeah. While I agree that they should be a couple again, they need to become mature enough to realize the mistakes they did. Let's hope that, in thetime they where separated, they grew up, and can be a NORMAL coupleAya seems to be on the way to fixing herself and should do more of that and not fallback into a self-destructive codependent relationship that her and Yuu are too immature to see is unhealthy.
Well it's a long story, so sorry if I misremembered when Hikari developed feelings for Yuu.Where do people get the idea that Hikari was in love with Yuu since forever? It's literally the opposite; Yuu was in love with Hikari since God knows how many years, Hikari only fell in love with Yuu a year before the story starts. Or the first year of highschool. Yami and Yuu got together when Hikari was not interested in Yuu. Outside of being private about his love life, which I believe people have a right to so long as they're not hurting anyone, Yuu did nothing wrong!
They did imply it, then back tracked a few chapters later.Lmao. What's next? The author is going to reveal that she's a grape victim?
This is only a problem if he knew they were friends and from what I know he didn't. I just cant fathom Yuu having a gf as something Hikari needed to know , especially because at that point in time she didn't like him and just thought of him as a friend/brother and its seems they weren't talking much compared to now in HS.He knows that Aya comes to the same school Hikari does, he at the very least could've told her that there's a chance he can meet her ex there instead of getting all jittery, but that's short-term.
Long-term, he was having a long and dramatic relationship with somebody while keeping it all secret from Hikari, and Hikari is not just some girl next door to him, and that's ignoring any romantic feelings they had/have for one another.
An ex-girlfriend, who's also her best friend whom Yuu was fucking while Hikari was being all flowery or something. The shit's messy, for Hikari, that is baggage. Had Yuu and Hikari met as strangers, Yuu having an ex wouldn't be a problem, but with the situation as is, this is gonna complicate their relationship too much.
Very clearly stated in ch27, but it's not really her fault - but we blame ourselves as kids. She simply told her mother all about her dad's multiple affairs, knowing her mother's personality and how she'd react. Which is always the objectively correct decision to do anyway, but watching your family split and break because of your own actions as a teenager easily causes them to blame themself. Why is she the cause of the divorce?
Did I miss something in the previous chapters?
I don't think one year can be considered "forever". Or did you already forget the first 20 chapters? Reread ch. 9.Hikari has liked Yuu forever
Agreed. Doesn't help that Hikari calls her Aya-chan, while he knows her as Yami-senpai, same way as Yami calls him Yuu while Hikari calls him Ta-kun.This is only a problem if he knew they were friends and from what I know he didn't.
While Yuu is under no obligation to disclose anything about his personal life to Hikari, my impression of their relationship is that they are supposed to be cordial friends to one another. You say "brother"? That's pretty damn close, if you consider somebody with whom you have no familial ties a "brother", this implies high level of trust, and one'd be hurt if someone you see this way hid an important part of their life from them.I just cant fathom Yuu having a gf as something Hikari needed to know , especially because at that point in time she didn't like him and just thought of him as a friend/brother and its seems they weren't talking much compared to now in HS.
I already forgot the main character.
What do you mean? She is the main character.
This 1000% thisIt feels mawkish, or manipulative. The author has gone so far out of their way to make the character sympathetic that they've essentially overdone it. Sure, I feel bad, but I'm not immersed in it anymore; it's eye-rollingly obvious that my heart strings are being pulled and it's getting old.
That's not it for me, It's the fact that he kept secrets to the point that she just had that kiss happen in front of her when she thought he was both single and in to her, and maybe he is, we don't know. He keeps all his shit so close to the vest around her that when it does come out it blows up in everyone's face.yeah i understand why people saw Yami as a red flag but i never understand why Yuu is also being called one lol. Like i get maybe him suddenly moving on even though his goal was to catch Hikari is not ideal but thats hardly a red flag when you consider the reason why he does move on.
I don't think it's suggesting she did something to get them to divorce but more like they are divorcing because she told her mother about the sexual abuse and as a result the already convoluted relationship her parents had got a lot worse.Just dark enough, but without being overly explicit either, to get the message across that she did something really fucked up to get her parents to divorce.
Sometimes, what we don't see is scarier.
