First time I see someone arguing for "tell don't show". Nevermind that we've had 8 chapters of events effecting two out of three persons involved.

This ISNT “show don’t tell” though, it’s a multi-chapter monologue. It’s basically a fuckin text dump just because you visually see it happen doesn’t mean it’s not “telling”.

The issue is that instead of things being brought up as they become pertinent to the story the author is just offloading all this information now instead. The better way to have done it would be to intersperse the details throughout the narrative as they effect the characters in real time. Yuu doesn’t know this shit, Hikari doesn’t know this shit, so it STILL needs to be actually addressed, which means putting it all as a huge unbroken monologue completely worthless and just drags the pacing to a crawl.

Honestly this was a great orc arc it gave a really important life lesson that sometimes instead of accepting that we can be love. We rather look into the negatives and only see what may happen to us in a bad way instead of being happy

But I'm confident pajama party was released before volume 2 because its' WN version has already been translated for some time. So now I wonder what that 29.5 could be about if it actually exists.

Honestly, I think the Spanish translation team wasn’t sure what number to use and just went with 29.5.

We're receiving way more information than we would've received if the manga did as you suggested. For one, we got a lot more stuff on Yuu, we witnessed him act and react and be something more than an inscrutable object of Hikari's admiration. We've seen him and Yami "fuck like rabbits" as you say, we see how, under what circumstances and motivations, something we wouldn't have gotten if we were just told "they fucked like rabbits". And if that is a "multi-chapter monologue" and "a fuckin text dump", then how exactly are the first 20 chapters different?

This IS the story, it is no less important for the author to tell and for us to see than the events chronologically right after chapter 21.

The better way to have done it would be to intersperse the details throughout the narrative as they effect the characters in real time

Do you want it to be a bunch of small flashbacks? Where do you want them to be interspersed? So far I don't see how that would be any better.

This read like a quite realistic toxic teenager love story, i don't get the hate tbh. It feels real and raw and I'm fine with it 🤷‍♂️

I guess if this is it's own manga it would be well received but this being shoehorned into a wholesome virgin love story manga is just not

I have now reached the meh stage of reading this manga. Everything feels contrived and Yami is still an awful person. I'll continue reading for the art.

As i've said before Yami is selfish and self-destructive. If her and Yuu were to get back together, there is no way that relationship last. If you have to walk on eggshells the whole time with your signficant other, then how is the relationship to flourish.

Again this would have been fine as a standalone angsty teenage drama from this arc but it feels completely disjointed from the first arc.

Anyway my thoughts...
