Yes, the girl who replicates her mom's negative behavior patterns when in a relationship by getting overly attached (staying up 3 days) and deflects whenever the topic gets too close to requiring her to be vulnerable, and ghosts instead of saying home stuff is difficult, that's definitely the girl to build a healthy stable relationship with.


The author calls them both heroines because they both are - whichever ship is endgame is b/c of the other so each is the tragic heroine to the other's HAE:

Aya/Yuu - Aya breaking her self-destructive patterns and being in a place where she could embark on a healthy ship would likely be due to the positive influence of Hikari over the last year

Hikari/Yuu - Yuu not being as afraid of the costs of a relationship b/c he's experienced one and knows some of the plusses and minuses and has had some time w/ Hikari not in his life

For some reason everyone thinks that for Yami being friends means she needs to talk to Hikari and simply give up on her love while completely forgetting what that means and suggests for the other side.

Bro, Yami doesn't have to give up her love, but just give Hikari a head's up so she can decide for herself what she's gonna do instead of what's happening currently. Instead of Hikari finding out what's happening in the worst possible way, with absolutely nothing to cushion the blow, she might be able to take in the events a lot better if she knew. She probably wouldn't have invested so much time and effort trying to befriend these two backstabbing pieces of garbage only for them to betray her trust.
