Calm before the stormWhen I saw the chapter on note, I noticed a lot was missing compared to the novel. So I checked the author's X and found the reason why:

Anyway, for those curious, here's an MTL translation of Chapter 35 of the novel:
Episode 35: The Second Encounter (Part 5)
Late September, on a Saturday.
The summer heat had mostly faded, leaving behind a refreshing, dry breeze under a cloudless blue sky.
...It was such a perfect day that even I couldn't find anything negative to say about it—not that I'd normally use such an optimistic description anyway.
Well, that aside...
Yami: "So, Hikari... What exactly is this?"
As for my current situation, I couldn't come up with a single positive thing to say.
Hikari: "But, Aya-chan, you didn't help with any of the festival preparations in the end..."
Yami: "I told you! I don’t do after-school duties!"
Hikari: "Which is exactly why you have to put in extra effort today during the actual event, right?"
Just like Hikari said, today was already the day of the school festival.
With less than thirty minutes until opening, the entire school was buzzing with excitement—not just our class, but everyone was caught up in the festival atmosphere.
Yami: "But no one told me I'd have to cross-dress!"
Hikari: "It's a butler café, so what did you expect?"
And so, I had become prey for this crowd of makeshift partygoers.
The moment I stepped into the classroom, I was swarmed by a group of girls at Hikari's command, dragged into the changing room, stripped of my clothes, and stuffed into a tuxedo. Now, I was standing in the middle of the classroom, completely exposed to the curious stares of my classmates.
...And soon, I'd be on full display for all the customers coming to our classroom as well.
Yami: "I'm taking this off and going home. No way I'm putting up with this nonsense."
Hikari: "Come on~ You look great, Aya-chan!"
Yami: "Besides, Hikari, why are you dressed as a butler too?"
Standing right in front of me, also in a tuxedo, was Hikari.
Hikari: "Well, I'm the class president and a member of the festival committee, so... I kinda had to, right?"
With her hair slicked back and even her eyebrows drawn on, she looked way too into it for someone claiming it was just an obligation—or was I imagining things?
Friend 1: "Nope, nope. Hikari was totally into it."
Friend 2: "Yeah, she even took her own tux measurements!"
Hikari: "Hey, you two! You can't just say that out loud!"
...So I wasn't imagining it after all.
Hikari’s friends—though calling them her lackeys might be unfair—were snapping pictures of us in our ridiculous outfits while joking around and teasing us.
Just a few days ago, they wouldn’t have even come near me, let alone talk to me. But now, they were acting all familiar, even dragging me into their antics.
Seriously...
It was all because of this tuxedo-wearing idiot standing in front of me.
Hikari: "See? It’s fine, Aya-chan. Let’s embarrass ourselves together!"
Yami: "Whether alone or together, embarrassment is still embarrassing."
Hikari: "But if it's the two of us, maybe it'll start to feel fun~"
Yami: "Not a chance, dumbass."
Hikari: "Aah! You called me dumb again!"
How oblivious could she be?
How serious was she about all this...?
Why did she care so much?
Why was she trying so hard to get involved with someone like me?
A sense of duty as the class president?
A straight-laced honor student fascinated by delinquents?
Curiosity about someone completely different from herself?
Maybe all of those things. Maybe none of them.
Most likely, she just didn’t think too deeply about it.
Her name was Shirazaka Hikari.
A girl who seemed like she was born from the sun itself.
Would she be the one to finally clear away my darkness...?
...
...
It was a day full of changes—saying it like that sounds weird, but still.
A day of big events and big shifts.
Our class's butler café was a huge success.
Both the regular butlers (the boys in class) and the "gimmick" butlers (us cross-dressing girls) got great reactions, and at times, we even had a line forming outside.
Hikari: "Aya-chan... may I have this dance?"
Yami: "...Are you serious?"
Hikari: "I meant to say, I'm serious! Listen properly!"
And now, it was time for the afterparty.
A group of students had gathered in the gym for an energetic dance party—an event that, for some, was an unmissable part of the festival experience.
Hikari: "Come on, let’s go! It’ll be fun! Imagine two butlers having a slow dance together!"
Yami: "Doesn't that sound... kind of twisted?"
Hikari: "So what if it is?"
Freed from my festival committee duties, I was feeling pleasantly tired and relieved that everything had gone smoothly.
Hikari: "After everything—getting laughed at, getting stared at—what’s the point in worrying about a little more attention now?"
Yami: "You do realize that’s not reassuring in the slightest, right?"
Hikari: "Come on, let's go!"
Yami: "Ugh..."
More than anything, though... I was feeling strangely exhilarated by this new connection.
And the fact that she was holding my hand so firmly, without the slightest hint of hesitation...
That made me really, really happy.
Yami: "Just so you know, I have no clue how to dance."
Hikari: "Look around—nobody here does."
Yami: "Fair point."
In the corner of the gym, two cross-dressing girls began stepping uncertainly to the rhythm.
And, of course, all eyes were on us.
Some upperclassmen cast confused glances at Aya-chan, but the cheers, the laughter (the good-natured kind!), and the playful whistles far outweighed them.
Hikari: "Today was so much fun, right?"
Yami: "Well, for you, maybe."
Hikari: "Aya-chan, did you not have fun?"
Yami: "Don’t ask me that while smiling like that—I won’t be able to say no."
Hikari: "Ahaha..."
More than anything, though, the girl in front of me looked... beautiful. Adorable, even.
And with that, all the noise around us faded away.
Hikari: "What should we do for next year's festival?"
Yami: "Already planning a year ahead...? Wait, you're in charge again?"
Hikari: "Oh! How about a maid café? I’d love to see you in a maid outfit!"
Yami: "…Hikari, you really seem determined to put me in clothes that don’t suit me, huh?"
Hikari: "Ehh~? But they do suit you! They totally do, Aya-chan!"
Yami: "Don’t cling to me, it’s annoying."
Even as she said that…
Aya-chan didn’t try to avoid my cheek pressing against hers.
She didn’t try to push away my hands wrapped around her waist, either.
If anything, I could feel the warmth from her hands resting on my waist.
Yami: "Hey, Hikari…"
Hikari: "Hmm?"
Yami: "I don’t really care about the maid café or whatever, but…"
Hikari: "Ehh? Then what is it, Aya-chan…?"
Yami: "I won’t ask for something as extravagant as being in the same class again next year, but…"
Hikari: "Eh…?"
Yami: "I just hope we can at least be in the same grade together."
Hikari: "Aya-chan…"
Extravagant, huh…?
If being with me is something she considers extravagant…
Then I want to respond to that feeling.
I want to keep supporting her as much as I can.
Hikari: "Yeah, leave it to me… My grades are actually pretty good."
Yami: "I know. I also know you’ve got plenty of flaws otherwise."
And there’s only one reason why.
Because I love her.
Her beautiful face, her difficult personality, her sharp tongue.
And probably even the parts of her heart she hasn’t shown me yet.
Hikari: "I’ll make sure Aya-chan moves up to second year! So let’s be in the same class again, okay?"
Yami: "You really ask for the most extravagant things, Hikari…"
Her name is Sudo Ayami.
A classmate I met less than a month ago.
Someday, I hope we can understand everything about each other… and truly become best friends.
Thanks for the chapter!

I ship Yami x Gentle Door Openingnow lets wait what she will do to herself after she become aware of what she did, hikari is a saint so she will probably fine...for the less part.
I think the author just wants to torture the reader w/ how good Hikari is for Aya to make the climax extra tragic. :/I think we've all long since got the picture at this point
